Results: i7 3770k 3.7GHZ vs 6 core i7 8700k 4.3GHZ
For those considering an upgrade in cpu, the results: 40 to 50 percent improvement. i.e. sets that hovered around 80% now hover around 40 to 45%. I turned off speed step and set bios setting to power user mode. Same in W10. cpu runs at a steady 4.3GHZ and temps with air cooler hover around 36c. Have...

Re: Live 8, Windows 7 compatability
Agree with all above. Live 8.1.5 has worked without any issues on my Windows 7 64 bit OS. Much better in fact than on XP and just as reliable as on my Macbook Pro. Be sure to run with Admin privileges. I got lots of audio artifacts until Ableton advised me of potential problems running in Live as a ...

Re: audio glitches when using Live only
Since I started opening with Admin privileges a week ago I've had no more problems with the sound. Seems odd admin privileges would effect audio performance but it certainly did in my case. Ableton might want to post this to the Windows 7 faq. Seems pretty important. In any case thanks to the suppor...

Re: Different Live issues (8.1.5)
I had similar issues under XP so upgraded to Windows 7 x 64. Been rock solid ever since. Not a single crash. I did have some audio glitches but I seemed to have solved them. My problems with W7 related to the 086 folder which houses most programs since many that run on x64 are still 32bit (Ableton i...

Re: audio glitches when using Live only
I didn't realize apps did not open with Admin privileges even though the user logged on with those privileges. I have made the necessary changes to open Live with those privileges and the problem seems to be gone. Can't be sure yet as I don't always have problems of this nature. Time will tell. BTW:...

Re: audio glitches when using Live only
I get glitches regardless of cpu usage, seldom over 20%, and get it with both sampled based sounds or synth waveform base sounds. No problems at all a couple days ago and I thought somehow I fixed it but then I had numerous interuptions the next two days, which is the norm. Even with only two tracks...

audio glitches when using Live only
When I play my plugins in stand alone mode (pianoteq, NI Komplete I have no audio issues. But when playing them in live I get numerous audio glitches. Popping/crackling etc. I tried setting buffer sizes, got a faster computer, (Intel i7 870 cpu based) all to no avail. It's better since getting the n...

sound card issue-intermittent audio crackling/distortion
I have an Mbox2 mini using Avid's latest drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. I get intermittent but frequent break up of my audio on playback of a recording, recording or playing scenes. On playback of a recording the break up will be at different spots on different playbacks. A spontaneous audio playback...

Re: Getting pops and crackles with plugin at 50%-60% cpu load
I had a similar issue when switching quickly between scenes. Complex and layered sampled sounds like Omnisphere seemed to be the biggest problem. But even NI synth sounds which are more dependent on cpu power than memory reading had issues. Just not as often or as bad. I had a duo core 2 at 2.8 ghz ...

scrolling in clip window very jittery
Anyone know why such a simple video task as scrolling the 2d clip windows under my cursor is so jittery. i.e. piano roll moving under the position cursor line System: Live 8.1.5 Intel i7 870 Quad Core with 4 Gigs Ram, GS 250 video Card Windows 7 64 bit Processor percentage never gets above 20% so I'...

page scrolling vs cursor scrolling - help
I've been unable to find the function that allows for page scrolling in the midi the clip session view window instead of the window moving underneath the cursor. i.e I'd like the page the switch once the cursor gets to the end of the window and then flip to the next page.

Re: Win 7 8.1.5 not retaining app audio
I installed ASIO drivers for Windows 7 and all seems to be working now. It was the drivers on the motherboard/system that worked when selected (direct x/wave) but would not be retained when saving forcing me to set Audio Preferences every time I launched the app. On a side note, the sound is definit...

Win 7 8.1.5 not retaining app audio
I just installed Window 7 64 bit to get more memory usage. Everything seems work but for the fact 8.1.5 has to have audio drivers selected on almost every new launch of the application. (Using on board Windows drivers)
