Re: MIDI Ctrl - 64 Hold Pedal / Sustain Issue in Clip Envelopes

Yep, what you need to do is simply create a change of value at the start. I always start at 0 then spike directly to 127 at the start of the clip. Only needs to be on the initial cpli start. After the sustain signal has it's initial value set the rest of the track can be fine. Back in my old Tracke...

MIDI Ctrl - 64 Hold Pedal / Sustain Issue in Clip Envelopes

I'm having a consistent issue with my live sets and it's been bugging me for over a year now. I love using the sustain pedal (or MIDI Ctrl -> 64 Hold Pedal in the clip envelope). I usually crank it up on certain clips because I haven't found a way to do it in the arrangement view envelopes yet. Anyh...

Re: connecting electronic drumset

I'm actually in the market to purchase an electronic drum set myself. I don't have one, but also have a general question about connecting it. With respect to connecting the MIDI out to the computer, is it as easy as simply connecting it using a MIDI to USB cable and getting Ableton to recognize it? ...

Re: Oops, how to correct tempo?

Warping is your friend. You can learn more about it here - http://www.heatercore.net/livetipslist.html - just scroll down to the "warping 101" section. For the second part, you'll probably want to warp the track first, then, as you're listening along with the track, find the spot where you...

Re: A scene in session view that automatically goes to the next?

Heyo, I think what you're looking for are follow actions. In session view, double click on a clip you've created. In the bottom left corner of live, you should see a menu with the title: "follow action". From there, this guy will explain it better than me. http://www.heatercore.net/2010/12...

Re: n00b questions -- trouble with beatmatching/warp

Sometimes when I play a warped clip I can adjust Seq BPM and sometimes it is greyed out. Why is this? I realize this thread is a bit old, but here's one explanation - you need to have clicked a warp marker in the audio track. Re: Ableton Live 8.2.2 freeze and crash

I have tried to contact Ableton, but they haven't gotten back to me. Before I started using the Akai, Ableton worked fine. I have sent the crash reports to Ableton and once again I haven't gotten a reply. Any suggestions? got a similar problem, sent in bug reports to the point where i can't bother ...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2.2 freeze and crash

I've been having the same problems, man. I've sent in about a thousand crash reports, contacted Ableton a few times about it, did what they said, and it's still crashing with 8.2.2. I tried it on 8.2.1 and it's still giving me trouble. What I did find out, though, is that when the program stops res...

MPK25 Freezing/Crashing 8.2.1 and 8.2.2

Hey guys/gals, Starting up Live is fine with the MPK25 plugged in, all the controls work perfectly for about a minute, then the controller stops communicating to the program. It stays like that for another minute (while I'm able to keep using the Live), then returns to normal. I'm able to use everyt...

Re: schwartzanator problem

This indicates to me that there is something a bit messed up in your install, and that if it were still not working a manual deinstall/removal plus reinstall of the 5.1.8 max app would be in order. It's possible that by installing the incremental version of pattr there may be other problems which w...

Re: schwartzanator problem

Hi guys, Had the same problem, but look here: The updated pattr fixes the problem with the parameters not loading/saving. You also need to be on Max 5.1.4 if you aren't already. http://cycling74.com/downloads/incremental/ Download the pattr object for your platform. Unzip it and replace the old pat...

Re: Space Is The Place

Sometimes it is useful to leave some space for other instruments on both stereo sides. so you can place an utility and narrow the width to 20, 30% or even 0 for being completely mono. I often do this with percussion sounds in the back to give some sense of depth. Usually 2 or up to 4 mainsnares dry...
