I use Live mostly for everything... but I also rewire it into Cubase SX 3.
I just don't get Logic. I tried several times. Somehow, I just get SX3.

Darth, I have no idea what the problem is. I've been using Live for quite some time now. I've only had to unlock once.

Yes. I've gone back and forth between them with no problem.

Funny side note, though. I use Cubase SX3, too. I hadn't used it since I did the upgrade... until this morning. Same thing. Crash when loading plugins. Then I just restarted Cubase again with no worries.

Well, CDex works great. It's more of a CD ripper, but it's very flexible iin how you choose to use it. And it's free.

And for those working in the radio broadcast industry, it can convert to .mp2 which very few apps will do.

I did and stand by what I said. I'm not sure how I should be reading that post you responded to. I'm not trying to start anything... but whether someone finds the audio quality in Live is subpar compared to others isn't the point. Compression, EQ, etc. are part of the equation when producing a track ...

Well, in fact, it's necessary, no matter what software you use. EQ and compression are simply realities.

Not sure about that but... they're such different applications.

Tracktion is a DAW as in Cubase, Sonar, Logic... albeit, a different "breed" of DAW from those others. LIVE, too, is a different "breed" of DAW, but it's nothing like Tracktion.

That's the concept behind the "Universal Binary", isn't it?

So Mac apps will run on both PPC and Intel. To develop exclusively for Intel Macs is dumb at best. Even Apple is making all of their software Universal.

Sure... down the road that'll change as PPC Macs start to disappear... but until then ...

I've only played with the demo versio of Tracktion. It's not bad to work with -- not buggy from what I've put it through in my demo sessions. However, I've been in Cubase and Live-land for a while now -- can't see why'd I'd switch.

However, it is a pretty easy workflow once you adjust to it.
