i have an q6600 clocked at 3.0 ghz( you can go even higher) and its a blast! with normal musicmaking i never come over 40 % and i use a lot of softsynths and plugins like NI massive or reaktor. so get one, i think this is real musicmaking and it makes really fun! i´ve made some cpu tests to test ...

i tested it in highendmode and it was circa at -80db. look in my ranking. and i also use it ever in high and i really like the sound of this plug and i mostly use for effects and stabs and some other things!

Tone Deft you are absolutely right i think its a little bit more complicated and normally i hate people when they use the word "fat" for music or a synthesizer this is all personal taste!

You should repeat same test with sinewaves of hardware synthesiers. you will be surprised what you'll get.
Also interesting is not only the level of distortion but also how exactly the distribution is. Like, you might have a harmonic overtone that is linked to the pitch of the note you play and ...
