Different kinds of timestretchers for flavour

What other pitch shifters (VST) can folks suggest? Other than using live's in-built modes? I am looking for something that can alter the pitch of realtime audio in any increments without altering the "timing" if you know what I mean...

Greetings again guys, So, your solemn silence has inspired me to go and look for myself and what do you know, I managed to find a "solution": what you can do is hold a key or range of keys on your controller and then double click any zone in Sampler - it gets automatically set to that key ...

It can't output midi at all as far as I know. But you can take your pattern from Guru and drag it into any midi track in Live. The only prob's that its a bit buggy right now, can cause an "assertion failure" sometimes when you do that.

Shortcut for Sampler

Question about assigning zones in Sampler - is there some way to tell it, after I drag in about a hundred different samples, to assign them all each to its own key? Without doing it manually? I've been looking this way and that but can't find how you do it. Thanks in advance!

In order to have the things be "in your face", compress them. For best results use flavored compressors that saturate and emulate analog... The glitchiness will be best achieved by resampling bits of your own percussion track creatively and then working on it in Simpler (or Sampler, which ...

Hey, what does "electronic voice phenomena" mean? There are of course all kinds of formant-capable synths and you can piece together some weird vowels and consonants...

Also there is a capable product called Virsyn Cantor, which is a "singing synthethizer" (no samples).

It doubles them so you don't lose any FX tails (in case those exist)

I'd do it this way: 1) Name your clips (CTRL-R), giving them some descriptive names you'll recognize. 2) Select them all and click the "Sample Crop" command. Now they will all be in your project folder under Samples->Processed->Cropped\ You can drag them into the library or wherever from t...

That you can make copies of clips, select all, and disable the notes. Then, work on melodies or beats with those disabled notes visible - much like the "ghost" function in other sequencers.

Very interesting!

I do have midi yoke with some enabled ports (which are being used), how would one go about finding the culprit?

I'm going to kill them all and try it before reporting again.

Recording multiple passes of automation

I'm working in Arrangement view to record some synth automation. I'd like to record several passes of it, i.e. first I "ride" the cutoff or whatever, then ride the resonance - you get the idea. I thought this would be really easy until I tried it - Live overwrites the previous recorded pas...

Simpler: Multisampling mode

We all saw that thing Simpler does when it says "Multisampling mode" (in the premade racks that come with live). But does anyone know how to use this "Multisampling" mode in Simpler? I can't find anything about it in the manual or on the interface...
