Re: Default Velocity...
Thanks from the distant future. I had the same problem and never would have found this hidden functionality.

Re: Synths all went out of tune
@ionic, I can understand the frustation, but I'm pretty sure they don't monitor these forums very closely. Have you sent them an email yet?

Re: Akai MPD 24 midi map mode
i know what u mean about turning the knob all the way b4 it does anything seemingly - have you experimented with 'Takeover Mode'? This determines knob/slider behaviour in relation to current parameter position and may well solve your issue. Is that mode a setting in Ableton or on the Akai? Haven't ...

Re: Synths all went out of tune
On a more serious note, I watched the video... and I noticed a MIDI controller on your desk. Some of the cheaper MIDI controllers have pitch wheels that are sensitive to vibration. I noticed that your controller is right in front of the speakers. Did you check your arrangement's automation to make s...

Re: Live 8 users w/ fast computers: I have a favor to ask of you
Did you ever get this fixed? I was curious because I have the same machine (or at least, I have a MacBook Pro with 4GB of RAM). I could open the file but it was pretty slow. Let me know if you never got an edit from someone; if not, I'll post mine. The original was 237.9 MB, the fixed version is 4.5...

Re: Synths all went out of tune
You guys should be happy instead of annoyed, you figured out how to coax some "analog warmth" out of your VSTs!

Re: Akai MPD 24 midi map mode
I have an MPD32 and it works fine. Always has, before and after updating the firmware. Granted, the MPD32 is not the MPD24, but I can't imagine there's much difference. Still, I have noticed that sometimes you need to turn a knob through the full range of CC values before it will be picked up by Abl...

Re: ABLETON ARPEGGIATOR ? IS IT ME OR DOES IT SUCK ?
Glad you figured that out and posted the solution, as I've noticed the same problem with Live triggering an arpeggiator on external hardware.

Re: annoying thing about ableton (change suggestion)
Also, when you start a new track that volume will be reset to the default level. Be sure to save a new template with a lower cue volume if it bugs you that much. I think it's helpful because I'm often previewing clips in the context of a mix that's already pretty loud.

Re: seeking a good sysex app for Mac
That's not easy to do. Both patch names and program numbers are manufacturer specific, and not part of the MIDI standard so to speak. Yeah. MIDI Quest can do all that using certain device-specific profiles. Unfortunately it's one of the most badly designed and unstable applications I've ever used, ...

Re: seeking a good sysex app for Mac
Thanks for the responses. I think I've narrowed the issue down to the Mac drivers for my Impact Twin MIDI interface. Everything works fine on the PC. But strangely, I can use C6 or Sysex Librarian to communicate with my other synths, no problem. So it's some issue where the Andromeda and the Impact ...

Re: seeking a good sysex app for Mac
Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll try to further troubleshoot Sysex Librarian or try using C6. I talked to the developer and he was nice... although he said it was probably just a hardware issue. MIDI Monitor didn't show anything amiss... Looks like neither of these apps support renaming or reord...

Re: SOLO questions (exclusive solo via MIDI, etc)
Thanks for the comment, good to see that someone else sees the issue with having to press the button four times to get Solo mode to come on. I have no idea why you have to press the button four times. The display of the MPD32 shows the CC value as 0 if the button is off, and 127 if the button is on....
