i was away on holiday there for a week and was thinking about it. i dont like the pads either.
when im playing it i dont know if im pressing them. i tried changing the velocity settings but it didnt make much difference. i think theyre too stiff

Check your midi prefs: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=192283 yes removing the other devices in the midi prefernces seems to have sorted it out. i loaded 3 samples into a rack and no crash occurred i dont plan to use any other devices with push ( thats the point of it really isnt it?...

i had the same problem loading samples into a drum rack direct from the push browser (9.04)
i removed all the other devices in the midi preferences and it seems to have cured it.

"when i load a device Push selects the parameters the 8 knobs will control - can i change these?" make a rack, and macro map the rack as you like, then save a preset and use that in the future. oh i use macros already, i just want to be able to do it thru psh rather than the way i normally do it.
