Akai is once again leading the most important thing in music production: WORKFLOW. Although the software is still immature, this thing makes Push a totally slow, narrow and obsolete thing. I love Ableton and probably will keep using it, but since they are not even close of using touch technology... ...

drum rack tracks should enter on 64 pad by default, same as melodic tracks.
In that way, page button should always scroll instruments in pages. it's very annoying using session as shift button.

In Melodic Step sequencer mode, hold the note and you can change with the knobs the lenght in steps and/or fine resolution.
Another way...You can hold the note and press the next pads at the right extending the lenth of that note one or several steps.

+1 The touchstrip / ribbon is very underutilized I own a volca bass and with its crappy keyboard in conjuction with the Octave knob, you can get great riffs in less than a minute. There should be a way to monitor the notes you can input. Otherwise you are "blind" and can't taste the notes of the scale making it honestly useless
For instance select + note could play the note without activating that step.
