Re: Live 9 Pricing
never had any problems with customer support. They were fast and polite in their response 2 business days, & I'm still waiting a reply. In the end I did upgrade THIS time. I wanted the new features and am pretty sure I want a push eventually and that needs 9 to run, I would have to upgrade even...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
...So, with that, if you already have proper VSTs and whatnot, then just upgrade to Standard 9. Its $159. I think that's a fair price. Was there really a lot of groundbreaking new amazing content (when you exclude instruments) from 6 > 7 > 8? I feel like the feature additions from 8>9 are bigger th...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
"They made a mistake on pricing. I'm switching DAWs" Yep, sounds dumb doesn't it? Not really; you have infinite free upgrades for Fruity Studio (which now have a new phrase-triggering window like Live) & Reaper has very reasonable upgrade prices, & you tend to get more for the pri...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
No dude, $159. Live 9 Standard. I think that's certainly a fair price considering the new features and improvements that have been added. IIRC, my upgrade to Live7 was $99USD, Live8 was $129/139. Further proof to back up exper's post above. I've noticed the same "sales" at grocery markets...

Re: New logo and Site design look cheesy. What do you think?
I think they made a mobile site and forgot that some people still use computers for the internet. Less huge text, please Which is ironic, since none of Ableton's software (yet) can work on a tablet/smartphone. So why try to cater to them? & even if you do want to make it tablet-friendly, just d...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
Yesteday I added the upgrade to suite to my cart, today I look and it has gone up an substantial amount. IMO this is not a very good way to behave, if you say you are going to sell something at a price then stick to it. I was on the fence but now I have jumped on to the 'wait and see side'. Same he...

Re: Processor size?
What you should do is buy both laptops, & send them to me for though testing. You are too vague on what you are doing; have alot of VSTs, playing big samples, complex time stretching for full songs?... You might want to consider paying the extra (& getting Apple care) so you don't hav...

Re: Recording my DJ set live, in Live?
I agree with 4. You didn't mention what kind of music you play. If you play old (15+ years, sometimes even 10) with new, you may want to put a compressor/limiter on that track only for those songs, since new tracks sound so over compressed they're awful. Keep volumes low like you do, 24bit will help...

Re: v7.0.16 multiband compressor patch change issues
Took 2 months, & 2 weeks after my resend, but I finally got a human reply & a case number: Case ableton330917.
Upgrading to 7.0.18 didn't make a difference it seems.

It has been 2 months since this post, & I've also emailed 2-3 times, & still no response. I'm sorry, but this is not good customer service.
Can anyone else repeat the same problem please, or have any advice?

Re: Live 8 freezes while DJing. Any advice?
Have you imported those same tracks before in Live? When you first open or drag&drop a clip/song into Live, it has to build a profile for that clip/song in a [song filename].asd. This could be the load delay. Would help if you could give your full computer stats also.

v7.0.16 multiband compressor patch change issues
In Live7, I get a show-stopper bug when I change patches in 2 mulitband compressors. Equinox http://www.kvraudio.com/developer_challenge_2009.php#dc09_51 Whenever I change a patch with Equinox, the CPU jumps to 66% & I get no audio unless I bypass this effect. Editing the default patch does not ...
