RME Fireface UC inputs not working with live 10…?
Can anyone tell me why my RME fireface uc’s inputs won’t work in Live 10 and why I have exclamation marks next to the audio input, output and driver options in the preferences? The interface works fine in Logic, but Live is being a bugger. I’m using latest version of Live 10 and I’ve downloaded the ...

Re: Is Apple losing its way in music tech?
It's not just the OS, it's the attitude towards the "prosumer" market. Things like soldering the memory to chassis, removing USB ports, swapping out i7 chips for i5 and still charging the same price, making internal third party hard drives incompatible with the firmware. They hurt seem to ...

Re: Is Apple losing its way in music tech?
I'm slowly making the switch to Windows. The only thing holding me back (other than waiting for my current machines to die) is using Logic for recording and mixing. Will probably make the switch to Cubase in the next couple of years as I just can't justify buying another Apple computer.

Re: NI people ready for macOS Sierra
Is it an older machine? Every time I update my MBP it seems to get slower and slower (I suspect Apple do it purposefully to make people upgrade their machines).Jackalton wrote:I'm getting very, very high processor usage (and battery drain) on my 12" MacBook using Live 9.6.2 in Sierra… :-/

Re: Native Instruments just ripped off Push big-time, ha!
Maschine is going to become a lot like Live. NI say over on their forums that they are updating the sequencer by adding a "song layer". By all accounts it will be very similar to session mode, where you can hit record and play in your arrangement from the patterns (clips) and scenes.

Returning to start of song from keyboard?
I can't seem to reset the start marker from the keyboard in arrangement mode. In programs like Logic if you hit "zero" on the numeric pad it'll return the playhead to the start of the track. I can't seem to find a similar key command on Live. I have to use the mouse and press "stop&qu...

Personally I was educated by both theories.
Either way, the tracks almost finished. Going to lay down some vocals for it on Thursday.

Re: Question for any music theory heads out there, song key?
I use a lot of inversions and the whole pattern has a descending followed by ascending feel to it due to the inversions I use. Like I say it seems to work. I'll post it here when I've finished.

Re: Question for any music theory heads out there, song key?
Yeah it works. I'm using it in a Liquid DnB track and it has a very "epic" and "euphoric" feel to it. Somewhat akin to Netsky's track "When Darkness Falls".

Re: Is all Ableton has to offer just Electronic dubstep trap mus
If you want to make "band" music but don't like the sound of your instruments. I would suggest investing in some better instruments rather than trying to use sample libraries. Ableton would make a perfectly serviceable multitrack recorder, which is what you'll be after to record you bands ...

Re: Question for any music theory heads out there, song key?
Ok, the chord progression goes C, Gm, G#, Bb. The last three chords are all part of the Cm scale (as i can see the lights flashing up on Push, which is set to Cm, when i play the chords on my keyboard) but obviously the tonic isn't part of the minor scale.
