Remember that you will not hear an external input until you either arm record on the channel or select input.

I haven't found the perfect solution yet. Bringing in the gates and converting them to MIDI and following that might work well. Tried to reset my password for my Ableton account (not the account for this forum) and haven't received the email after over 30 minutes and two attempts.
