Re: Fully deleting a song in Ableton?
Thanks for adding that.
My songs are extremely vocal heavy, so this will free up a lot of space on my end. Lots of unused takes can be ditched in one easy pass so long as I have the bits I need saved aside... I like this a lot!

Re: Fully deleting a song in Ableton?
Thank you for the confirmation; very helpful.
Is there a display that shows a full list of where each file is referenced from in a given project in an at-a-glance format?

Fully deleting a song in Ableton?
I'd like to fully delete a song, but am wondering if there's any "gotchas" to look out for? I get that I can just delete the whole folder associated with the song, but will that cause any issues with other songs...or Suite itself? For example, say I used a kick drum sample that came with A...

Re: A serious program error has occured. Live will shut down...
I also get this error quite frequently... it almost always happens when I'm recording vocals (usually when I press the spacebar to stop recording).
Live does an "OK" job of recovering, but there's no recovering the time lost.

Re: Vocals, sample cropping and overall performance?
So, I created a Live Pack to test with and it seems that even cropping a waveform down before creating the pack does not delete the portions of audio that are not played.
I opened a dedicated thread to ask for pointers and advice, if you're interested to follow.
Thanks again for your time!

Creating a live pack does not keep cropped audio cropped?
I created a new song and added a MIDI melody and an AUDIO vocal. Afterward, I cropped down the vocal to the section that I wanted to use. Having the basic arrangement, I exported the project as a Live Pack. When I re-install the Live Pack, the vocal audio is still the same length and placement, but ...

Re: Determining a song's genre?
Thanks shadx, I've seen that somewhere before...but wondered what ever became of it.
I think I'll just say screw it and group all my songs (regardless what they sound like)
under a personal, new genre.
Works for me.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Thanks for the clarification, Warrior Bob... as with 99% of forums on the net, I assumed it was a troll. I do appreciate your reply, thanks.

Re: Vocals, sample cropping and overall performance?
Thanks... I will have to try exporting a live pack and see what it includes/excludes. I also didn't find it in the manual.

Re: CPU spikes and stutters
Chances are, the spiking is occurring at the same places each time, so take note of the exact point in time that the spike(s) occur. This will tell you where to start looking in your tracks for the bottleneck. Disable filters/effects one by one, then re-audition the song... ...you'll probably find i...

Re: Glitches - Pops - Problems
It's probably an overload of processing requirements. Delete tracks one by one and replay.
Or... render the tracks and play it back. If it plays fine, you have your culprit.

Re: Determining a song's genre?
gromgrom and antarktika,
Post, neo...
That's exactly what I'm talking about when I say that most genres are a rehash of the genre they're subbing and not a new genre.
The field has become mud.
