Re: Live Upgrade or new Logic Studio 9

Yeah, well I guess my main point is that I'd like to upgrade to Live 8 to get all the new features etc. but the actual cost of the upgrade is almost the same as a new version of Logic Studio 9 retail, so I might as well get that. It just seems prohibitive, upgrades should be about 99 euro max IMO.

Re: Live Upgrade or new Logic Studio 9

The download version is 179euro and the box is 249euro (that's for suite, not for just live 8)
at current exchange rate that is £228 for the box

I currently have licenses for: Live 7, operator, sampler, electric, tension, analog, drum machines

Don't think it's worth upgrading this time...

Re: New iMac firewire connection question

Great I've been wanting to know this too, thanks.

I heard that the faster device should be first, e.g. put the FW800 hard drive direct to the Mac and the FW400 soundcard daisy chain from that. Otherwise your HD is limited to 400 speed

Re: New iMac, Macbook, Mac Mini

I just got a new iMac. It's pretty nice, super fast, lovely screen. Loving all that space.
The new mouse is a bit odd but much better than the old mighty mouse. The scrolling is great but can't get the hang of the 2 finger swipe.

Just in the process of reinstalling everything... yawn...

Hi

Unless you sample the drum beats trying to copy those sounds is going to be pretty tough, but you should be able to get the pattern easy enough.

Just need to listen closely to the original and apply some basic principles. Everything will probably fall on the 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 beat as the guy said ...
