Re: so i bought maschine
Yes, you need to be in Module mode for the pad and then make sure you have the Sampler module selected. You can then use the right and left arrows to navigate the config pages for the Sample. The second page has params for changing the pad from being a One Shot to ADR or ASDR. Then once you select e...

Re: Black Friday Deals
I wish Spectrasonics would go ahead and do a freakin' sale. I'm dying to trade up to a legit copy, but $499 is a little too steep for my blood at this point.

Re: omisphere... i dont get the big deal.
I love this beast. I've been using it now for 6 months and I use it in every track. Granted I don't write boom boom, wha-wha, dancefloor shaking, electro hypity-hype-step. So the cinematic patches it has are a welcome sound to me. Plus, when you combine this with Trillian, it's basically got every s...

Re: Native Instruments discontinues Kore
I'm OK with this. I own both. And although I love using Kore for Sound Design, I'm fine with them moving this same functionality into Maschine. That would be my only concern though, is how long will it take for Maschine to be integrated with Kore's features (namely, setting limits on macro knobs, an...

Oh, and be sure to throw some compression on all three chains (not using the multiband, just insert a compressor on each chain

Re: Any tips or tricks on adding "bite" to synth lines?
I can't say enough about frequency splitting. 1. Use an effect rack. Start with one multiband compressor. Turn the compression Amount all the way down (meaning, don't apply any compression). Then set the Hi, Mid, Lo frequencies to taste. 2. Duplicate the chain and Solo the Lo, Mid, and Hi bands on t...

Re: Dear Ableton
Personally, my 8.2.1 has only crashed once (maybe twice) on me since I installed it. That sort of stability is about what I get with every other DAW.
I'm happy.
Sure there are a few things I'd like to see improved, but I could also say that about every other DAW.

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out
It's basically The Finger by Native Instruments with a different interface (albeit one that looks a little easier to tweak on). If pretty a pretty UI is worth $150-250 for features you can do pretty easily with other components, then go for it. I'm gunna stick with manual and occasional use of The F...

I never had to configure speakers. I believe when you click the Solo button on the master fader, it toggles it between cue and solo mode.

Re: Cueing with Apogee One
There is a way to do this. What it entails is creating what is called a 'Aggregate Device' in your Audio/MIDI setup. I have done this with success with my Duet, which also has only one output. Basically the steps are: 1. Open you Audio/MIDI setup 2. In the Audio window, click the little + sign in th...

Re: Holy Sh*t - Maschine update 1.6 brings VST/AU hosting !
Does Maschine allow me to record the incoming MIDI from a keyboard as well as the midi from the pads. Or If I were to get this baby, would I be only recording rhythmic parts for the track (drums, sample triggers, etc.) in Maschine?
Becuase trying to play a bassline using pads might not work for me.

Re: getting that drop
What I've done a couple of time to some success is build up by adding more and more progressivly high engergy loops (this might just mean moving from more quarter notes to 16ths and so on and so forth) and then cut everything for a whole measure. Then BAM! Drop kick to the FACE. DJ's may not like th...

Re: What to spend my NI Komplete 7 coupon on?
I got Deep Reconstructions. I can basically offer no constructive review of it at this point except to say that in the week or so that I've had it, I've probably wasted(?) a good 5 hours running random drum loops through the effects and tweaking/resampling...and having a blast in the process. Glad ...

Re: Konkreet Performer - a new multitouch controller
It's been disclosed that an upcoming release of iOS will feature CoreMIDI. It's only a matter of time that there will be an extension cable, and necessary software APIs for developers to do straight MIDI over USB with the iDevices. I'm really looking forward to this. I hope that this is also capable...
