Re: [amo] No Page Up / Page Down control Over Clip Transpose

Hi~ I was really excited to hear this, and immediately tried it in both Live 8 beta and Live 7. Unfortunately, this doesn't work. When I hold shift and hit arrow up, arrow down, I still transpose by an increment of 1. I am on OS X 10.5.6 on a white MacBook. Please pass this along to your design team...

[5099] No Page Up / Page Down control Over Clip Transpose

This is a bug that has irritated me since it showed up in an upgrade of Live 7. Basically, it used to be a feature that pressing page up would transpose 12 semitones on the clip transpose knob, and page down would transpose 12 semitones down. This is not rectified in Live 8 either... What an easy fe...

Thanks. What I MEANT to say was "[If they need to use this discontinued feature] I suggest that people find a pirate copy of Live 7".

I guess what we mean and what we say doesn't always gel.

Plus, how is it stealing if I use a pirated version of a software version that I've already paid for? I'm not going outside of my license by installing on additional computers. I just want my previous functionality that was lost to me. It's not like I "broke" the version that I bought. Abl...

Ok. I admit that was total flame bait. Still, my frustration exists. It seems strange to me that such a nice piece of existing functionality would be removed from the software. For someone to offer a "remedy" to that as being "wait until you can pay more money to upgrade the next vers...

That is a shame, because I was using this feature with some enthusiasm in Live versions 4-7. It seems that one of the more recent upgrades to Live 7 disabled this feature. This change should certainly be resolved in a bug fix, and not a full upgrade. Why pay more money to have a pre-existing feature...

for those you want to port to osx simply: write a vst instrument in your software of choice (synthmaker is what i used), have one mide input, but no output. have two audio inputs, and two audio outputs connected to the inputs (audio throughput). save as a vst instrument. done. dead easy. now lets a...

Where'd Page Up and Page Down quick transpose go?

I used to love improvising in-clip transpositions using the quick 12-tone jumps possible with the Page Up and Page Down buttons. Recent versions of Live have not included this very useful feature! Where'd it go?!?

I am on OSX 10.4 G4.

Thanks!

Wow, Robert! This isn't just a Live set. It's a computer music tutorial! Thanks for revealing so much about the way that you craft sonic textures. This will be for Live what "Trapped in Convert" was for Csound.

Keyboard Remote Difficulties

I'm using OSX 10.4.11 and cannot get the mappings to work with my computer keyboard. The manual has very little information regarding this feature, and I haven't seen any other posts by searching for this problem. Has anyone else had any issues like this, or am I just missing something really obviou...

Please add this feature. A simple automation envelope that controls the time signature would suffice. It could be in the same area as the tempo automation.

In fact, please add this feature as a free update. I can't believe it doesn't exist already. For shame!

Operator is a great synth! If you are having problems with it, maybe do some research on the nature of FM synthesis and try to apply it w/ Operator, it will blow your mind. When combining Operator with the built-in Ableton effects, the sounds can be extremely organic and dirty sounding. Also, I real...

Ability to read/sort iTunes xml metadata tags

Basically this would be a simple extension to the file browser, that would allow all of the typical iTunes metadata to be read and used for sorting (genre, tempo, album, etc) the audio files within the iTunes music folder. It would be an enormous timesaver for DJ's, and also for anyone who likes to ...
