I'm guessing you just need to hit the back to arrange. button at the top of the screen by the play button. If not the. it probably is a glitch

all it would have to be is an alt+click in the clip view to set the main playhead position.. and make moving the playhead by the global quantize amount user assignable like any other key command.

this is really the only thing that seriously bothers me in live.

When I'm composing in the arrange view, it really kills that i can't set the play position from the clip view. Also it kills me that I can't fast forward or rewind (by a key command).

This is a modest request, I hope it will be heard.

you could do it with midi cc's.. you could set it up in the mod matrix where a controller is controlling multiple parameters. otherwise you're just going to have to do it in the channel that contains the virus instance. i don't see anyway around it. sorry bro.
