You might need to process the mid and the side differently to achieve what you're looking for. I assume that your refer to the center as mid and stereo as wide right? In that case, I did process them differently. Slight compression on the sub in the center, low mid and mids panned hard right and le...

I tried the phasing trick - two tracks, panned hard, track delay (10ms) and while the bass is definitely wider, I lost all my center. In the alter ego track, the bass still kicks it in the center, while also being huge.

Back to the drawing board.... :?

Can't use just use clips for step sequencing effects? And save dummy clips as templates?

Really- Robert Henke uses Protools? Where did you read that? He was always banging the loudest drum in favor of Ableton's high fidelity chops.

Well, I take it by the responses that my issue is somehow not experienced by others, or somewhat trivial. Anyway, as I said, I've been using Live exclusively since 1.5, and have never been bothered about sound quality. I work around whatever "limitation" there may be and enjoy the program...

How odd, I don't think I've ever heard that before. I don't get anything harsh off the Fab sound at all. I've seen various people post about FabFilter, and its their overall, "harshness." I don't think its such an uncommon perception. I demo'd all their stuff last xmas, when they were doi...

The last DAW I used before Ableton (1.5) was DP (2 or 3 I believe). I never really followed the sound quality issues to be honest. But I'd like to now why there is a distinct difference in sound between samples auditioned in the browser and the same sampled when imported into an Ableton set. I parti...

Them things sound harsh....
Wow - harsh is the last word I would use to describe Fabfilter products. I personally think that Fabfilter sounds are a bit too tame, but hey, diff strokes for diff folks.

Re: Live 8: Finally "warp" feature added to sampler?

Yo guys, I'm pretty sure that each slice gets its own instance of simpler. I sliced according to warp marker using the chord / stutter preset and it gave me eight different simplers. Try it again. You will see that it's not really eight different simplers. It's one Simpler with slices set out acros...

Re: Live 8: Finally "warp" feature added to sampler?

Why don't you warp the sample anyway you want to in the normal way and then use the slice feature set to "slice to warp marker" mode. Then you can make a drum rack out of your sample and have an instance of Simpler assigned to every slice. I didn't think you could make a slice preset with...

Re: Using Sampler

Let's say I sample a piano note from a song. Is there any way to set it so when I use my MIDI keybooard, the sound doesn't sound slowed down when I use lower keys on my keyboard. Or sped up when I use higher keys? Also, I'm sure I can set it so the sound doesn't cut off immediately when I let go of...
