Re: that flying lotus sound?

Flying Lotus primarily uses Ableton, although he also uses Reason (or at least used it in the past). You wanna know what's part of his sound on Los Angeles? Ableton's side-chain compression. He's got a core set of sound samples that he uses and re-uses. Other than that it's TALENT. There's nothing m...

Refugees Driven From Our Human State

"By any measure, we live in an extraordinary and extreme time. Language can no longer describe the world in which we live. With antique ideas and old formulas, we continue to describe a world that is no longer present. In this loss of language, the word gives way to the image as the 'language' ...

Re: Ableton Live 8 - Apple Network MIDI - Arkao Grand VJ

Re: Any tips for learning Live 8?

After taking how many years since version 1.5 to learn live, and as someone who is constantly learning something new, I divide "learning" into two processes: 1) The Intellectual Approach - read the manual, do the lessons, keep the info tab open, and try to learn certain techniques without ...

BRAINFEEDER SESSIONS III

Anybody else hit up the BRAINFEEDER SESSIONS III last night? I was blown away - Mono/Poly, ESKMO, and Nosaj Thing all played some really great music. Eskmo was doing some crazy shit live! The vibe was also great, and the visuals were spectacular.

Live Crashes on Startup

So, I though that it wouldn't hurt to post my issue here and see if anybody can help a brother out. I'm running Live 7.0.18, bu...

Re: for my friends on ableton forum: some wisdom

By far the most important skill to have if you wish to become successful with anything is ATTITUDE. An old Chinese proverb once said, "90% of the journey towards success is over once you have stepped outside your front door." The reason many people fail, is because they'd rather stay in a...
