8mb buffer vs 16, 5400rpm vs 7200, etc

Is 5400/16mb much better for sample playback than 5400/8mb? 7200 much better than 5400?? Anyone who has compared, please post your findings!

Waves

I use the Waves mastering bundle heavily and love it. I've found no equal but some like things like Vintage Warmer.

Re: Mastering audio . . . very important

Having WaveBurner included within Logic Pro 7 - even I am Live user, this feature is bringing Logic to the "serious" software area. Logic is back in business allowing us process, edit and BURN (!) your stuff. If Live can do this in the future . . . well, for midi I would still prefer Logi...

I'd be happy to get 15 minutes! I've been averaging around 3 minutes. I'm suspicious of my Mbox core audio driver, but who knows!

hey josh, overall, good stuff! the only thing i could suggest is that you arrange/mix in a way that emphasizes dynamic changes - these mixes are too even with no real energy changes from verses to choruses, etc. even little things like slight gain increases in the hooks go a long way to keep the ene...

Have you gone into audio preferences and selected your Delta interface for sound input?

If you're using the laptop drive for your media clips, that could be the issue. Try to always use a 2nd drive for media so that your system drive is only running the interface. Be sure the 2nd drive has low seek time specs and runs at 7200rpm or greater.

make sure you only have controlAid selected as the MIDI Input in Live.

if you have controlAid as input1 and also have your controller as input2, then the behavior you're describing will occur.

let me know if that's not what the problem is. - Charlie

Hey steveo, controlAid only receives messages on channel 1. So if you set all your oxygen knobs to transmit on channel 1, you'll be good to go. controlAid will then modify the channel info of the MIDI data it sends as needed. I have an oxygen myself that I used to do a lot of the testing for the pr...

controlAid confusion

thanks charlie it would be truly amazing though if you could assign min/max values to the different controllers, so that it wasn't just 1-127. that way you could find the sweet spot in your 2 or 3 plugin/eqs etc and tweak them all at the same time. also would be great if you could do reverse 127-1 ...

seriously good!

yo rahlo, Universal Blackness is really great work. I'll be listening more in-depth when I have some time.

thanks for being strong and putting yourself out there. It is the hardest thing for an artist to do and you're worthy of the attention!
