Sequencer retriggering
Greetings, I am Sequencing one of my synths with Live and I was wondering how to get the first note of the sequence not to just retrigger, but rather glide from the note at the end. It's a long filter sweep, so the re-trigger every measure is really annoying sounding, and I have set the synth to gli...

Re: How can I get that ravey Crystal Castles synth sound?
I would recommend fiddling around with your MS20 VST, Ethan Kath primarily uses an MS2000B in his songs and that synth is based entirely off of the MS20. Crank up the noise, experiment with the patchcord area and dirty it up with some reverb and distortion.

Re: MPC for live use.
I've looked at the maschine and I'm not sure what to think of it, I'm sort of leaning towards something with at least an ability to be used by itself, without a computer always hooked up to it. If you own one, would you recommend it over a more analog unit of similar price?

MPC for live use.
To all MPC2000(xl) owners: How would you rate the MPC's versatility and/or usefulness on stage? I'm in need of a good drum machine/sampler that would primarily be used live. I've had my eye on an MPC2000XL but I haven't really heard much about it's live performance capabilities. If you could suggest...

Field Recording
I'm thinking of going on a wonderful sample-catching filled adventure with a friend. Assuming I can borrow a few microphones, what types would you recommend? I'm thinking SM57 + sturdy condenser but I'm having a hard time remembering the other kind of mic that is commonly used. Also if you can recom...

Re: Deleting projects that ive started coz im not feeling them
I really recommend not deleting anything. Personally, my whole creative process involves leaving projects alone while I let them stew in my brain for a while before revisiting. It might be different for you, but still... It's easy to just store them away someplace on your hard drive.

Re: Do you need to “earn” the right to remix someone’s music?
Who would want a reputation for making rubbish remixes of popular music? A lot of DJs/"Producers" (If you can even call them that...) in my area seem to think that's the only point of what they do, it's really sad. It's always been a popular trend, but I think it's getting worse. Don't ge...

Re: Cheapo DJ Controllers
I'm thinking of going with Serato, provided I can take advantage of Live + Serato, that's really why I became curious about this whole DJ thing. When I saw someone using the bridge it blew my mind.

Cheapo DJ Controllers
I've been producing music for quite some time, but I want to dive into DJing now. What cheap , USB, DJ controller would you recommend for a beginner? My view, and this could easily be wrong, is that they're all pretty much toys to use while you save up money for Technics or Pioneer CDJs, so cheap as...

Re: Live Audio Setup
How would one go about sending the master output of the MOTU (or any other I/O, DJ mixer, etc) to a regular analog mixer (The output of which would go to a sound system)? Is there a degradation of audio quality by just using the 1/4" outs?

Re: Live Audio Setup
Well, my plan is to have a Moog Voyager receiving midi data from live, so it seems like a MOTU is the way to go at this point, I'd like to use live to send CVs as well but I haven't quite figured out what type of output is required for that. Other than that I'll be running 3 or 4 mics and playing dr...

Live Audio Setup
Hello, I'm sure there are loads of posts about this but here I go. :? Being broke, I haven't been able to get a hold of any decent audio interfaces for a live setup, but now that I can afford one I have no idea what is out there. My ideal is to have a lightweight system with a few MIDI in/outs, late...
