I have been using the waves morphoder. Is there much of a difference between it and Orange? A tip if you are vocoding vocals, it can help a lot to also have a high pass filtered version of the modulator signal, it'll give cleaner sibilants and sounds much clearer without reducing that vocoded-voice ...

See here for using asio4all to control multiple soundcards. It might work.. if that doesn't do it, you could consider buying a SoundBlaster Live card for nearly nothing. These have two outputs (front/rear) and when used with the kX drivers (free), you can use them as a stereo master and a stereo mon...

I've had a look with MIDI-OX to examine the MIDI, both going into Ableton and out again. My live input consists of a note on, note off, note on and note off again, each on a consecutive timestamp. If this is recorded (without record quantization) and then played back, Ableton has destroyed this timi...

Impulse/MIDI bug with a little speed?

Hi, I am wondering if there is a known issue with Impulse playing two samples at the same time under extreme MIDI conditions? I have the following situation.. I have built a hardware sequencer that sends a MIDI ON followed after a few microseconds by MIDI OFF. A few microseconds later I send another...

Still no response from Ableton, apart from "is delay compensation turned on?" Their product goes from version 4 to 5, and mysteriously takes a massive CPU hit, and they are clueless. It's becoming obvious to me that whoever was responsible for the outstanding work in previous versions has ...

fix it

I'd like to see NO new features, and a serious fix to all the performance issues. C'mon Ableton, you've been totally innovative and it's really paid off. But lately Live is falling victim to the eternal new-feature-slower-performance upgrade cycle that all the competition is stuck in. How about you ...

I have gotten rid of LIVE4 from my main laptop, so I can't check your results, but one thing that has not been mentioned yet.. Do you have delay compensation on? It eats up CPU, and might be the cause of such an event once you turn on EQ3. Just a pie-in-the-sky guess, but. It does seem weird that d...

Telling me to upgrade my hardware is rather off topic, so I would appreciate an end to those irrelevant comments. I do not expect my old machine to run Live perfectly, but I do expect the developers to improve their software between versions. In my simple test case, Live5 is now substantially slower...

Getting slower?

I don't know if this classes as a bug or not, but I would certainly like to hear a reason for this behaviour. I have noticed a radical slowdown in 5.0.3. I am comparing it to 4.1.2, feel free to try this out on other versions if you use them. I own a 500mhz old, old computer, which means I need to b...
