Re: Barebones Alternative to Live?
Why do you care why? I see that I have come to the wrong place to ask a simple question. I remember now why I don't hang out on these message boards.

Barebones Alternative to Live?
I use Live at home and have for years, but sometimes at work when I have downtime I just wanna write a song, chord progression, melodies, etc... I don't need a million instruments and serious production capabilities just something bare bones to mess around in. Of course I want to be able to save the...

Simpler Legato Mode?
I know I need t update my version of Live so this may be added already or there maybe something I'm missing. Is there anyway to play a sample and not have the sample restart from the beginning everytime a new note is played? So that when you play a really long sample you can adjust the pitch by play...

K-Station, Guitar, Powerbook.
I am a keyboardist and use Ableton for some sequencing and the FX. I have been playing with this drummer. I take my K-station and Powerbook over to his place and we jam. What I am wondering is if I were to pick up a guitar, something I haven't done in 10 years, how would I go about routing it, I wan...

Virtual vs. Actual. Your thoughts please.
I am an amateur musician. that is I have never done anything more than write music in my bedroom. I have never really even seen a "real" studio (a few pics here and there) What I am wondering is that currently (September 25. 2006) what is the ratio of "actaul' instruments to "vir...

I am a graphic designer — wait I asked this very question like 2 weeks ago and got like 2 responses, oh well — I live in Minneapolis, I make $25,000 a year but I just graduated from college and I was working for free at internship until recently so I guess this is OK for my first gig. However if the...

Why doesn't snap, snap?
When snap is checked in the pull down menu, and I am editing envelopes why do the "nodes" not snap to whatever the quanitization (the grid in the background) is set to? It would be helpful for precise editing of envelopes. Could somebody clue me in or do I have to go back to the DAWs I tho...
