I'm on 12.1.5 MacOS.

Why? Has this changed?

Still an unsolved issue in 2025. Every single time I'm using Live I have to go to settings and manually select CoreAudio which has always been the only option and then select Audio Input Device and then Audio Output Device... I must have done this many thousand times over the years.
Please Ableton ...

How can this not be implemented yet??? I have bought the upgrade to Live 11 and still every f* day I have to select Core audio, then input and then output which is the same as it has always been

iPads are great for performance. Lemur should work fine for that.

Be sure to check out Icarus wavetable synth from Tone2. It should be way more light on CPU than Serum and I like it much better.
And as others have mentioned, Spire - it sounds superb.

Do you know if upgrading to High Sierra will improve the macOS speed and efficiency?
Or do we only get new features?

New MacBook Pro 2016, Live 10 beta

Hmmm... I find it a bit harsh or hard and still get way more character and fullness with my other synths.
It helps to add an EQ with a wide dip in the mid range but I think the sound quality should be improved.

I've been playing with the beta the last couple of days and it certainly feels great to have Live 10 on my system. It feels like getting a brand new and refreshed Ableton Live with the new look and the many useful new features and overall it feels a lot quicker and more efficient to use.
