random midi note on on a clip

Hi, I have various random sequencers, but what Im looking for is a way to assign probabilities for the occurrence of each note on via modulation in a clip. suppose I write a 1 bar clip with 4 notes C-G-F-G, i want to assign for note 1 100% chances of occurring, note 2 30%, note 3 60%, note 4 80%. Ho...

Wavetable synth bahaviour. (Modulator? Glide?)

Hi, i'm enjoying the new Ableton Wavetable synth, I really like it. My doubt is about some behaviour that I cant control, the output sound is not what I want and I have some clues of what it can be: The clip is 8 bars long, one note (A0) extending the 8 bars, and in the 6th bar a sequence of 4 short...

Is important the audio driver & soundcard when rendering?

Hi, I think that the audio driver (asio, directx, etc) or even the soundcard is not a factor when rendering, because is done by the cpu, but i want to be sure. Im rendering some tracks without my pro interface.... Is that correct?
thanks

recording unlinked clip envelopes of different length?

Hi, I really like the feature "unlinked" in the clip envelope section. I like to choose a different length for the envelope, for example 1 bar clip and 1.1 bar envelope. But the problem is when I want to record this, the envelopes get restricted to the clip length, so only for example the ...

Re: How is this beat constructed? (Can, Halleluhwah)

16ths = there are 16 equal notes in a bar of 4/4 8ths = there are 8 notes in a bar of 4/4 quarter = 4 notes in a bar of 4/4 Want to know what a bar is, look at the time line in Ableton. yes, I know what a 16th is, I didn't know what a "figure" means :) @Angstrom yeah, isolating the detail...

Re: How is this beat constructed?

^^ what he says. also, when counting you will notice that Jaki basically plays figures of 16th notes on the snare that lead to the main hit on 2 and the 4. Thanks for the answers, slice to midi, right! shame on me Is really a good way of learning the patter construction and some rhythm theory, I do...

warping before beatslicing?

What techniques do you use to beatslice? Until now i just simple beatslice (at 1/4, 1/8 or transients) and then re arrange that, but what about warping at song BPM and then consolidate and slicing that?

Re: Julian Cope’s ‘Krautrocksampler’ as PDF!

Apache- or Dingerbeat: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/33/Klaus_dinger.jpg Yeah, Klaus Dinger is one of the heroes of this period. I know Hallogallo pretty well : ) Ive read all what I can find about him and Neu! But I want to know what you (people of the forum :) ) hear in these rhythms...

Re: Julian Cope’s ‘Krautrocksampler’ as PDF!

about the motorik: the most obvious feature of this beat is the pattern
1&2&3&4&
xxxxxxxx hh
--x---x- snare
xx-xxx-x kick

but what about the accents? in the drums or bass/guitar
in the drums I think that a very important characteristic is the absent of accent, no downbeat

I found this PDF years ago, and it changed my music taste forever.
And besides the fantastic music, the writing is amazing, a work of love.

Cheers Capitan! and pskept. Good encouagement to get new posts underway. Yeah I haven't met any big profile people in ages, I'm hoping with age that I'll have chilled out on that front. Just getting back to RDJ it is brilliant to see him working on new concepts. I wonder when this divorce (if thats...
