Re: Joysticks??

I've been using a joystick on stage for 10 years now. I think it's the best controller possible. So expressive, so precise, so fun, and so spectacular. Honestly I don't get why it's not popular. I'm using my own Max/MSP devices so I can't say much about the softs you're referring to. It depends on w...

Re: Ableton + Nord Modular G2 as MIDI controller?

The G2 works as a regular MIDI controller (with the extra madness that it allows).
As far as I know it doesn't transmit MIDI through USB which is a shame.
You can use a custom script or not, that's up to you.

if you're into coding your own voice allocation system, I've found that Bennyi's poly abstraction is a blast.

Nice to know thanks. I’m also getting the habit to delete the remote scripts for the same reason.

Well, maybe when "Grain" is out, the new plugin that replaces Grain Delay and Henke's Granulator II. :)

Grain Delay : Mapping Pitch parameter constrains to semitones

I can understand why, but I'm quite bothered with this. You can automate the pitch parameter just fine, but when you map it to MIDI or to a Macro, it's constrained to semitones. That makes me impossible to recreate some pitch manipulation on stage, in live. Any chance to have an option to map it "un...

This is scary, as, for once, I jumped straight to 10.1 and already worked on it massively. Didn't notice anything wrong, but since...

Re: Master Pattern Switcher (Launchpad Sysex+x)

Yeah I didn't want to talk about the imp.midi externals since the OP is a Max noob, I thought it would just add some confusion.
But yeah, this would allow it to work from a single M4L device !

Re: Master Pattern Switcher (Launchpad Sysex+x)

I'd preferably use a M4L device, but only to send sysex to your RS-7000.
For the rest, regular MIDI tracks.
It's always good to not use a second software if you can get around it.

Re: Master Pattern Switcher (Launchpad Sysex+x)

Max4Live devices can only output MIDI to one MIDI channel (the output selected in the MIDI track). So you'll probably end up with several MIDI tracks. Knowing that, I think that you can achieve most of it with regular MIDI clips, apart from Sysex, but you should find a device that does that, quite e...

Re: control voltage patches

An audio signal, when it goes out of your soundcard, is nothing more that a voltage that varies in time.
So if your soundcard can handle static current (those soundcards are called "DC-coupled"), then it can drive a CV-controlled synth, or whatever. The concept is actually super simple.
