Re: How can i record two audio tracks at one time?
You can arm multiple tracks on one scene in session view (by techniques mentioned above) and then trigger recording of them all simultaneously using scene launch. For this to work, the option "Start Recording on Scene Launch" must be enabled. There's a shortcut to this pref on the context ...

Node4Live: Let us plug into Node/V8!
Live runs Max, which runs Node, which runs on V8, which is the greatest JavaScript engine ever made. Why not skip the layers of legacy and modernize Live's extension capabilities with real bindings to Node/V8? The engine is ready to go. Millions of JavaScript programmers exist -- orders of magnitude...

Node, Max, and Live APIs in JavaScript
Hi! Is it possible to access the LiveAPI from a Max/node.script? It appears that Max/js object scripts can use `new LiveAPI()` and Max/node.script object scripts can use `require("max-api")` but it would be very useful to be able to do these two things together in a single JavaScript file....

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
I appreciate the distinction, but I'm using 'chaos' as short for "random and out of control". If the LFO is applied subtly then its effects aren't very noticeable or unmusical, but if the LFO is modulating very noticeable effects then phase control becomes more important. Physical (analog)...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
Some people like randomness and chaos. As an engineer, I prefer order and determinism. Starting from determinism, you have sufficient control to emulate chaos and even play with variations. Starting from chaos, your only option is to keep rolling the dice. sNokatus, er I mean katusNo, er I mean Noka...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
jestermgee, posting videos or files saves no time. It literally takes under 2 minutes to prove to yourself that my experiment is valid. Try it with "Ensemble Brass", a stock sound. No myths, no user errors, just two back-to-back renders that differ. Some people think it is right and well t...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
Thanks for taking a look, pottering! Now, please allow me to raise the bar on what to expect from a DAW. When you export an image from Photoshop (or any imaging program), and then export the same again, you expect the difference to be zero: black. Likewise, when you export sound from Live (or any mu...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
As a scientist, I will be first to admit doubt. Maybe I'm wrong and Live is perfect, but if you can replicate my results then we must admit the possibility that Live exports are inconsistent, at least with some instruments and effects. Here's the experiment, which I just did in Live Suite 10.0.6: * ...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):
Live 10.0.6 exports inconsistently today, so the thread is still relevant. Maybe google searches lead here for a reason: people are experiencing problems with export. At least in my case, it is NOT the usual suspects: drivers, bit depth, sample rate, dithering, etc. It is also not faulty 3rd party s...

Re: Why do my tracks sound better inside Ableton than exported?
This doesn't have to always be a problem. It is currently a problem because Ableton Live doesn't manage all audio engine state deterministically. If it did, then we could get reliable exports that sound exactly as expected, every time. Note, I am *not* talking about sound quality issues here. Mistak...

Chromatic & Custom Note Layouts
Is it possible to configure Push 2 with a custom note layout? Chromatic layouts currently only provide 3 options for vertical steps: * 4 semitones (called "3rds") * 5 semitones (called "4ths") * 8 semitones (called "Sequential") As a new user, I found this disappointing...

Re: piano roll: select deactivated notes, invert selection
In Logic it's possible to select all muted events, and to invert the selection whatever the current selection is, i.e., select everything that's not currently selected and de-select everything that is currently selected. These are really handy sometimes, for example when splitting a MIDI clip into ...
