Re: Reaktor 6 FX is not showing up!

Live isn't seeing my Reaktor 6 plugin either. The dll is there in the VST folder when I look in my File Explorer and Live is set to look in that folder for VSTs, but Ableton doesn't show Reaktor 6 (or R6 FX) in the Plug-Ins browser - only Reaktor 5 stuff. A lot of instruments I was using in projects...

Re: Uninstall Push Driver

I don't know how to completely uninstall it, but in Windows 11 I got Ableton Push Control Panel to stop auto-starting at startup and running in the background & in my system tray. In Settings > Apps > Startup, it shows up as "USB Audio Class Driver Control Panel" even though it calls i...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

If I remember correctly, in my device manager it just says "OHCI Compliant 1394 Host controller". I'll check when I get home and edit if this is incorrect.

edit-----------------------------------------------------

Finally got word from ASUS and the firewire chipset is a Foxconn.

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

rikhyray , I can't confirm it at this point because I haven't written to Rain asking that direct question yet, but yes, you are getting my drift - I think the firewire chipset in my Livebook Pro is in fact NOT a TI chipset because: a) I've been having the problems I've been having b) One of the blu...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds And Audio Devices This’ll bring up your Sounds and Audio Devices Properties control box thing. Click on the Audio tab. On the Audio tab there should be 3 boxes with a drop-down list in each: Sound playback (with a Default device sub-heading), Sound ...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

Hey Shaman, I don't think it's important whether you specifically have Realtek or not for your audio, it's just that we need to recognize that, as PC users, we don't have Integrated Audio like the Mac folk do. This simply means that whatever audio our PCs ship with, Realtek or otherwise, we need to ...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

Shaman, I've found a fix which seems to have improved things. Only time and extended use will tell for sure, but I think I may finally be getting performance commensurate with MOTU's reputation. I'd been using the Ultralite as my sound device for everything because that seemed like the thing to do -...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

Walkingmachine and Illum: Sorry to make you guys nervous. From what I'm able to gather, you probably don't need to be at all. It does seem like a lot of people are having problems with these things, but the ones that aren't, aren't , if that makes sense - I really think it may be just that there's s...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

Geeze though, that Multi seems like it could just be a faulty unit. Or is this just the latest one in a series that exhibits the same behavior?

You ding-dong. I knew if I said the words "magic bullet" someone would get snarky, but I had to go and hit Submit anyway. I'll bet even you know I don't expect to never have a headache again. All I ask is that my interface doesn't completely shit its pants all the damn time like this Ultra...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

I've just found a very interesting (and fresh!) thread on KVR Audio that discusses the mysterious firewire issues many people have been having with all manner of firewire interfaces, and with pc and mac alike. It also shoots down the TI chip myth, at least as it pertains to cardbus firewire cards on...

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

That sounds more like my story. I've been noticing it more lately, too - If I have a lot of tabs open in Chrome or use Quicktime, Flash, Rhapsody, what-have-you, it's often at that sort of point of audio/video "load" that the MOTU craps its pants, and the more stuff I've got going on, the ...

The Ubiquitous MOTU Ultralite Crackle Crash

Hi all. Thought I'd register my experience and keep the thread alive. I have a Rain Livebook Pro which I believe is equipped with the TI Firewire chipset and I get this problem all the time. My personal experience combined with research done online in many forums has told me that the Ultralite is co...

My understanding is that if it reduces volume by reducing bit-depth you actually end up losing dynamic range and can't listen accurately at low volumes. If it's analog, then you keep all your bit-depth (and dynamic range) while you lower volume after digital processes are finished. Actually, I think...
