Re: Dave Smith Tetra - who has one? Thoughts?
I wouldn't. Same price range as the SEM. http://www.audiomidi.com/Synthesizer-Expander-Module-with-MIDI-to-CV-Panel-P12454.aspx Guaranteed the SEM is fatter sounding, better filters etc. No slight on Dave Smith, nice stuff, just Oberheim is in a class by himself. For a little more the CV version is...

Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!
you need lcd screen. like . . the one on your computer? ;) err, yes that's what i mean. nothing wrong with a computer screen. look at the promotional video of apc on ableton site. the guy LOOKS constantly at his lcd, of course he does.even if he would be performing, you'd only make things difficult...

Why not use an oxygen8 keyboard (with velocity) to trigger clips. Mainly because they have no lights, therefore can't represent the state of your clip slots (empty, clip present, clip playing, clip recording) and you can't navigate and select which area of the session you want to control. Re: it's official, next year I don't upgrade till it's stable
NEVER to buy/upgrade until the forum complaints have dropped off completely. not sure if that's the right strategy; this forum does not represent Live's whole userbase and complaints are always louder than praise.. allthough that is true. i found forums to be most of the time pretty well representa...

ableton Live 8.0.4 auth and windows 7
I installed and authorized ableton live on a windows 7 machine. however, in order to get the GUI to function properly, i read that i have to run live in vista compatibility mode. but after changing the .exe preferences for windows vista compatibility, I was asked to authorize Live (...again). howeve...

Re: decided to buy windows xp
yes, best to use the vista drivers. the compatibility mode in win7 works really well. right mouse click, properties, compatibility, choose vista. one problem with m-audio driver for the delta series is that your comp doesn't shut down anymore. but this will be remedied in a next driver update, and th...

Re: FINALLY ! Wacom Support in 8.0.2 -> Big Thanks
Be careful of the tablet size. Personnaly I think that too big tablet are tiring. For a 20 to 24 inchs display the intuos 4 A5 wide is ideal. what he said.. larger tablets (A4) are only useful for when you're going to do drawings in photoshop and stuff like that.. so you guys are saying i bought th...

Re: FINALLY ! Wacom Support in 8.0.2 -> Big Thanks
just did an impulse buy. bought the intuos4 large from Wacom europe. price is ok to me. and the purchase chain is clear and informative. e.g. it clearly states that i can return the goods within 2 weeks, no questions asked. first time i actually see this clearly written out for the customer and not ...

Re: FINALLY ! Wacom Support in 8.0.2 -> Big Thanks
cool. is it possible to develop applications for this thing (guess this is a stupid question, of course it must be!)? there is a lot of creative potential with these tablets. the smooth touch sensitivity seems just begging to be used for modulation: filtersweeps, dry/wet efx settings, triggering stu...

Love hate 8 dead sliders = no use whatsoever. a crossfader (which I never use), and in the worlds most awful position. no little screens means I still must look at the laptop to try and make some logical connection between what these lights represent. Hey ... lets play the new scene called, um &quo...
