Here's an intriguing idea - a service that compares a piece of music to an existing set of music to see how well it conforms to "the formula". In this case the formula being commercial success. But it could one day have non-evil applications too...

but I hate installing software on my "serious" DAWs until it is totally bug free and has reached its optimum stage of development. I dislike having to install and uninstall, which is the case with Live, while with other software it is usually updated via a patch update. But as I said, I realise tha...

Never mind Y-fronts, how bout an Ableton thong , like FL Studio offers? Guaranteed to inspire the wearer to new creative heights when used in conjuction with said software. Na, crossing software with undies is just WRONG. What's next, MSWord Speedos? http://prodtn.cafepress.com/3/6421273_F_tn....

With Apple going Intel soon, and say OSX gets hacked and cracked.. Is this even a realistic possibility? I mean, "Apple is going to be using Intel processors" is surely not the same thing as "Apple is going to be using x86 processors"? I mean they were already using IBM processors, but that never m...

Hi Gabe, All good news here, I've had no probs with my data on many different HD's over the last 6 years of semi-frequent flying to gigs. I put all HD's and lappies thru the carry-on X-ray conveyor. But if you're taking ALL your data, it might be best to take an additional HD with the super-redunda...

Air travel vs hard drives
I'm wondering if those of you who fly with computer gear take any special precautions? Shortly I'm going to be flying with a total of 5 hard drives in my carry-on pack. In other words every single byte of virtual property I own will be in the same place at the same time and I'm slightly paranoid abo...

"Only a sith deals in absolutes." - Obi Won Kanobi Star Wars Revenge of the Sith Yeah nice to see an element of grey in Star Wars 3, when it's always been the classic black and white goodies vs baddies story. Too bad that almost-wise statement from Master Ewan Kanobi is an absolute itself.;) I must...

I have tried the Roland GK-2, but wasn't that impressed. Though maybe I am expecting too much or not prepared to compromise my playing style to accomodate the pickup. They can probably be bought second-hand for not too much money now, and think of it this way, even if you only use it a little bit, ...

I've been using a GK2A and GI-10 setup for a few years now, it's a good way of inputting midi but far from perfect. I find its biggest weakness is the velocity accuracy, rather than the tracking speed, but you get used to it and work within the limitations. I generally use it for chords, and use a d...

Re: bcr
You better first try the behringer. Because the quality of the knobs are crap.. Feels like they break every time you turn one. This ain't bullshit. The machine is great , cheap, looks cool. But the rotary knobs are just crap.. Greetz Just think of them like disposable razors, buy 6 at once. I'm sur...
