Re: Bitwig 2 was just announced. What about Live 10?

Bitwig 2 is rock solid for me (Windows) and I havent touched Live since it came out as the modulators (and cv for my Eurorack with ES-8) are just too good. I think Ableton went all in with Push, they are a hell of a long way behind Bitwig in terms of features, but I am hanging on to my licence as L...

For the past few weeks Bitwig has focused on bug fixing... they have made significant progress already and they said they will keep at it for a while more. So no need to wait that long ;-)

Re: Better than Bitwig?

Overall, I would pick Live over Bitwig. However, I'm into the new MPE controllers and the support in Bitwig is good and in Live it doesn't exist. So I have been using Bitwig more than Live lately. I miss a bunch of stuff in Live when I use Bitwig, but when I'm using Live I miss a bunch of stuff in B...

Re: My Complaint With the Direction of Live.

Especially considering that the internal modulation options in Bitwig are far beyond anything I have seen cooked up in M4L! The M4L LFO and Envelope Follower wouldn't even cut it if they were native devices! :x The one thing you get with modulation in Live is being able to modulate parameters acros...

Re: My Complaint With the Direction of Live.

Well, I'm glad that the acknowledgement of its clunkiness, and the fact that there is work being done to improve it. If Ableton is committed to M4L, then I really hope that the next version is smoother. I have so many problems with mappings and presets being recalled on M4L devices in a Live set th...

Re: My Complaint With the Direction of Live.

Bottom line for me is I would never trust it to use in a live setting and I feel uninspired to use it in the studio. I want Ableton to veer away from releasing stuff on this platform and keep things native. Paid or free upgrades being a moot point, plugins like LFO, Convolution Reverb should exist ...

Re: Push 2 coming soon?

I was going to get Push 2 and use the trade in... but now I realize that Push 2 cannot be powered by USB... so no going outside with laptop and Push anymore. Hmmm

Re: Push 2 coming soon?

All of that is moot for me... 8x8 overwhelmingly beats 4x4! 4x4 is a total show stopper (for me). The Push user interface is good enough for me. I also have no interest to avoid my lovely 27" screen. For many of my DAW tasks, screen and mouse is better than Maschine or Push so for those sorts of si...

Re: Push 2 coming soon?

I am surprised that didn't get implemented this go around. It's going to be mandatory soon. I'll get the new Push but also the Linnstrument. I think it would play very well with Elektron gear like my A4. I have an AK... If one were to select the same preset for each of the 4 voices, each mono, coul...

Re: Push 2 coming soon?

Compared side by side with Maschine it loses in every way really, except for the 8X8 launch bed. And there it is... I could never be happy with the 4x4 pads. So it immediately requires another midi controller for note playing... and that does not cover triggering session view clips where the 4x4 pa...

Re: Push 2 coming soon?

i was really hoping for MPE implementation maybe in push 3 and live 10? looks like I'm getting the Linnstrument after all Roger Linn said he's been talking to Ableton about it, but that's all he would say about it. He was at Loop all day Saturday demoing the Linnstrument for many people though (usi...

Re: Best laptop for Music production: very curious - Macbook?

Retina MBPs have had PCIe connected SSDs since late 2013... The 2015 MBPs have PCIE 3.0 which is twice as fast as the previous 2.0 i missed that spec jump. they now do around 1400 MB/s. that is smokingly fast... Yeah... the first few times I copied some files from one place to another I thought som...
