huh? fw400+usb2 hard drives are not exactly rare. and i wouldn't necessarily hang my hat on fanless; plenty of fan'd drives are very quiet.. and maybe more reliable.

i've had no problems with any version 5 iteration.

don't have one but checked em out a lot @ macworld. seem very nice, construction and operation appear to be top notch. 'course i don't know anything about them 6 or 12 months down the line...

make sure that your airport card is properly seated
they can often be seated enough to still work but unseated enough to cause frequent panics. same goes for RAM, although with that one your computer is less likely to run at all.
