I own a ReMOTE SL too.
I think your problem is that the Live automap has midi notes assigned to the drum-trigger pads. This makes good sense then your actualy playing "drums" on then but not for doing anything else IMHO.
You can change the template on the SL so that the drumpads will send control ...
