I have two of these and still often use them as a emergency backup for gigs. just in case everything goes horribly wrong and my notebook HD dies. and that has actually happened more than once.. used to play whole gigs with these, that's why I own two. got to have a backup. always :)

are you sure it is not a grounding problem? you sure using the same ground for all your equipment that are connected? so that you are not what is connecting two different potentials together?

just asking couse had some same kind of electricboogie moments some time ago.

It sure is a rendering issue with Live

It just happens when using Live as rewire slave. Run the Live session (samples & session) from RAM disk if you can. That should help. Or if you have the 3.x version, just load all the samples to RAM. That should do it, have not tested though.

Even with the RAM disk I still got some dropouts with ...

yep you sure need to behave when trying to communicate with people...

sounds like a common problem. more or less all the laptop ac adapters seem to generate some kind of electric interference through the ground wire. mine is quite loud too.
