Something's not setup right, 'cause it works for me. Try this:
In Ableton, on your MIDI track, make sure you've got your Source/Channel settings correct.
In the "Monitor" section of the MIDI track, make sure that "In" is ON, "Auto" is OFF.
Make sure that "MIDI To" is set to your Audio track.

In Ableton, using a midi track to send midi messages to an audio track with at3 inserted. You need to send PC (program change) messages, not cc (control change) messages. In at3, load a preset, click midi,preset, and set the value in the "Program Change" box to whatever PC# your controller is ...

Running Live Lite 8 on win7/64. Comparing drum programs on the same midi clip. Have BFD ECO/SI/Session drummer 2. Can't see SD2 in devices. VST in same path as the others. Any ideas?

To expand on my previous post. Works with PC's to change presets too. I'm using an FCB1010 thru an M-Audio Fast Track Pro to control stompbox on/off and presets, and a Korg NanoKontrol (separate MIDI track) to control amp/stompbox settings.

I'm new to Ableton. Been using Sonar X1. In Sonar, Once you have Amplitube working with MIDI in standalone mode, you configure Amplitube as a SoftSynth, insert it in your Audio track, and use a MIDI track to send cc's to the Amplitube SoftSynth. Works great. Is there any way to do something similar ...
