I am actually german, and I just moved from Sydney up to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, but still only an hour and a bit away from Sydney.
I would really like to check out Melbourne though, heard good stuff about it.

I am using modul8 from www.garagecube.com, mac only, it's the best and most stable vj program on mac in my experience.

my mate is using the 01x,pc, and live4, and he got the same problems.
nothing wrong with the 01x, really good and stable machine, it is live thats causing the problems.
hopefully ableton will fix it in the not to distant future.

freezing comes from Logic,i think, if you run out of cpu in logic you freeze a track, it renders it to disk and saves cpu, but you won't be able to change anything without unfreezing it.

stay away from m-audio interfaces if you have a mac, it is not just me that had really bad problems with their interfaces. i now got a motu 828, it's still portable enough for me, bigger than the m-audio interface i had, but at least it works. it also depends on your budget, but don't buy m-audio, y...
