Re: The dumbest question EVER!))

1. Is there a way to control in real time a playing (MIDI) clip transpose with a MIDI keyboard? 2. If yes, could the beginning of transposing be linked to the Global Quantize setting (so, it starts in next bar, or after 4 bars, etc.)? If not, then why Live doesn't have such useful feature, and what...

Re: Transpose Notes Selection Of All Clips At Once

That's why I created TransposerRT back in 2015, and have been using it ever since. It lets you play MIDI pitch offsets from one track (the "Sender"), whereupon those offsets are received by other selected tracks (the "Receivers"), so that those receiving tracks raise or lower the...

Re: Brainstorming what can I do with M4L?

Check out TransposerRT, a pair of M4L devices I wrote and put on www.maxforlive.com. TransposerRT (the RT stands for "Real Time") is a pair of Max for Live MIDI effect devices which together greatly increase Ableton Live's potential for improvisation and composition. With TransposerRT, a u...

A Faster Alternative to Manually Transposing Material in MIDI Clips (Requires Max for Live)

[After reading the following, if you're still interested, please refer to the YouTube video I made , which will explain the capability and demonstrate it in action.] Disclaimers: - If you don't use MIDI clips (i.e., you work exclusively with audio files), this isn't for you. - If your compositions d...

Consider Adding TransposerRT to the Max for Live Devices That Ship with Live

TransposerRT (the RT stands for "Real Time") is a pair of Max for Live MIDI effect devices which together greatly increase Ableton Live's potential for improvisation and composition. With TransposerRT, a user can issue MIDI pitch transpositions on the fly from a MIDI controller or clip on ...

Re: Can I Make One Track Always Armed, Others Armed Exclusive?

Thanks for the suggestion. It works great while playing, but not when recording. Then only the armed tracks are recorded.

Can I Make One Track Always Armed, Others Armed Exclusive?

Hi folks, I want to be able to have one track stay armed, not being affected by whether I choose to arm other tracks. But I only want that behavior for that one track; as for any others, I want their arming status to be mutually exclusive- i.e., only one of them to be armed at any time, with arming ...

Play Pitch Transpositions to Multiple Tracks in Realtime

Hi folks, I'm in a bit of a pickle. In 2015, I created a pair (a "sender" and a "receiver") of Max for Live MIDI devices which greatly increases the usefulness of Live for improvisation and composition, and I was so happy with it that I published it on maxforlive.com ( http://www...

Please Add the Ability to Preview Sets Before Loading Them

Perhaps the most exasperating and time-consuming aspect of working with Live is that I must somehow try to keep track of which file contains which music. No matter how descriptive I try to be in naming my files, I inevitably find myself wasting minutes of precious creative time (and caffeine buzz) o...

Can Live Automate the Tempo Based on a MIDI Track?

Hi folks, I'm running Live 9 Suite and I'm wondering whether I can use it in a way that complements my playing habits. Specifically, when I compose a song I almost always improvise with the right hand playing some melody, and the left hand repeating a bass pattern that long ago became second nature ...
