Hey did you ever get this figured out? I'm having a similar problem but I've never had an APC40. I just got the APC20 and had problems right off the bat with the included CD (buttons flashing without command, master volume fluctuating by itself, etc.). Hey I just checked it out and liked it man. I say no vocals but maybe a longer pause in the middle of the track, kinda like how you had it around 75% of the way through. I think there's enough melodies in there to prevent it from being boring and vocals on top would make it messy.
