Re: APC40 Template Creation
You should be able to. I did. Just know that you won't be able to get some of the lighting features, which are pretty pointless anyways. And by lighting features, I mean stuff like the vu meter that lights up clip launch buttons. You can still have a running metronome, you just need to know how to p...

Re: Sell me on the Kaoss Pad
Seems logical so far, but from your post it reads like this should also be a send in Live, is that correct? I mean I could certainly free one of them up, but if a regular track could also do it, I would prefer that. BTW, may I ask what that better hardware you bought is? Yes, this will rout through...

Re: Sell me on the Kaoss Pad
I had a KP3 for a while, but ended up trading it fora better piece of hardware. It's definately fun, but I found it more of distraction during live sets. You can either route the master audio directly through the pad, or you can route send signals through it. Personally, I preferred to use send-sig...

Playing one clip at a time on the APC40
So I've rendered out fuck ton audio audio clips, and chopped each one down into the individual note they are playing. I have my APC set up so each clip launch pad plays a different sequence. I really just want to jam and see what I can come up with, but I have a small problem. Every clip is a bass s...

Dropping Sample Packs into iTunes??
So I usually split all of my song I am DJing up into 5 clips. I then save these clips into a sample pack in abletons browser. Is there any way I can drop these sample packs into iTunes for a faster, more organized workflow? Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks in advance

Selecting an effects rack with a clip launch button?
Hi, I am wondering if there is any way to select an audio effect rack with a clip launch button on my APC40. I want to be able to jump between control banks with the pads on the APC during a DJ set. There are not enough knobs on the APC!! If anybody has any type of solution, please help me out!! Tha...

Re: David Byrne....Music and the Brain
"...when I’m writing and recording music, I listen to what I’m working on. But that’s it. I find music somewhat intrusive in restaurants or bars. Maybe due to my involvement with it, I feel I have to either listen intently or tune it out. Mostly I tune it out; I often don’t even notice if a Tal...

Re: MIXING question. What do you do?
So usually when I'm mixing 2 tracks together, I tend to cut the bass on the track that I am mixing in (Track B). When I find a suitable point, I'll switch the bass from Track A to Track B. I usually tend to not touch the highs or mids. Is this sloppy? I know I should theoretically mix in the mids f...
