Re: Recording audio tracks from MIDI tracks

This doesn't happen here. If you have anything on any track that is adding latency and you don't have Delay Compensation active, this could happen I suppose. However, I just tried this with a serious latency plug-in on another track and Delay Compensation inactive and couldn't reproduce what you des...

Re: Group tracks to keep mixer sliders free of gain automation

I'm STILL grouping any track that contains VOLUME automation, BUT... I'm using the utility on the "nested" track to get around the fact that the group track will have it's slider set @ 0db. There are also racks where each chain has its own level control and can popup with a fader in the m...

Re: Ability to access menu on Windows while in fullscreen

On OS X, it's possible by moving one's mouse to the upper left corner Anywhere in near the menu bar region, not just a corner. Windows has this on the OS level for, eh, windows. It's possible Ableton use something else instead of that API or that they turned off this menu because there was some pro...

I think that might be for Windows only.

Re: Why music is so bad today? Can't wait to hear the reactions!

I gave my kids one of my old CD players and a tape player and boxes of music to dig through. They haven't even touched it but they know all the new "popular" songs that I don't because they pick it up from youtube mostly and that is not through lack of trying to educate them in music, it'...

Re: 10.3 is unusable LAGS , UNUSABLE

So, GDI is a non object-oriented hardware abstraction provider for the win32 platform written in C, if I understand the clues right. Maybe something new have replaced this in Live 10 and when this new tech, whatever it is, acts up "forcing GDI" ensures stable operation? I have no idea, but...

Re: Live 10.03 lagging like hell

I have the same problem on W10-64bit. Will try this solution and see if that works: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=1746708#p1746708 EDIT: Wow, it really worked! :D At least for me. So only adding _ForceGdiBackend to Options.txt removed your issue? That's all you did? Anyone tell you what...

I know it's a long time since you wrote this, but could you please explain how it's a bug that playback stops when you stop transport? That is what naturally is expected, isn't it?

Re: Prevent Live to cut notes and sound when hitting Stop ?

I have the exact same situation happening in Live 10 Suite as a keys player but using the Push 2 instead of foot pedals. Did Ableton ever provide a resolution or workaround? The solution I think is to not use transport for stopping, which sends an "All notes off" message, but to stop the ...

Re: Mod wheel "quantized" with external synth

Its a very weird bug and I have no idea why other DAWs on windows dont exhibit it and Life does. In your tests, did you find whether Live is affecting the MIDI going out? Or does the issue seem to somehow happen in interplay with the MIDI in the Windows OS and some events are dropped at that stage?...

Re: Mod wheel "quantized" with external synth

I did a bunch of tests (assuming something was wrong with my interface), but everything pointed back to Live. So I made a load of example graphics, put somthing on the centercode beta board etc. Its a very weird bug and I have no idea why other DAWs on windows dont exhibit it and Life does. In your...

Re: Mod wheel "quantized" with external synth

As for now, the workaround for me is to set my buffer size to 512 samples, which gives me about 42 ms of latency (which is unplayable) Roundtrip latency? Are you using ASIO with a dedicated audio interface? I don't think my latency is that high even with native audio in my MacBook Pro. Another ques...

Re: Advice regarding computer-choice

Do you think that MacBook beats the Dell I linked? No, they are likely very similar, but as I said I'm not familiar with Dell build quality and can't judge their hardware. You'd have to compare the CPUs in more performance detail. I don't think the 16gb of extra RAM in the Dell makes a big differen...

Yesterday I was wondering why Live didn't start from 1.1.1. I have no idea how I got to that.
