Hey
I don't like the way the new simpler reacts when I play it. On ableton 8 the sample would stop playing as soon as I stopped pressing the key. Now it plays the whole thing. Not practical when you are digging for a short vocal snippet out of a full acapella...
Is there any solution?

Default sample volume in Simpler should be set higher
I don't know it is set by default to -12dB. This is way to low in my opinion.

Re: keyboards shortcuts while using the browser
I just tried for the plugins and it's something I should integrate in the way I work. Unfortunately you have to validate by pressing enter or the "go" button, which is not the case with the adress bar of any recent browser.

Re: keyboards shortcuts while using the browser
No I just mean you type a letter and then ableton select the first folder/sample/instrument begining with that letter. Just like in a basic explorer really.

keyboards shortcuts while using the browser
Hello,
It would be great if when I press for instance the "s" key, ableton automatically select the "s" browsers one by one, as if I where in the windows explorer. It would be much much easier to browse samples and plugins this way.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Help! I accidentaly unplugged my APC40 and it damaged physically the usb port. I would like to open the unit with a screw driver but there is a sticker that says : risk of electric shock do not open. It is really dangerous of is it just a thing to avoid trial? (or both!)

Why does ableton create a folder when exporting a preset?
The title sums it pretty well: I created some 128's (basically, sampler instruments) and I want to store them into a folder. But when I drag the sampler in the explorer on the left, ableton creates a project folder named after the sampler instrument. I want to have all my samplers in one folder, and...

Re: sample layering
Good idea. But it's a little bit annoying to not have this feature which is in my opinion essential for a drum machine.

Hi, I would like to have multiple snares hitting independently with a slight delay between each snares. But I want them to be triggered with the same midi note. I don't want to offset each midi event manually. (like the snares/claps in this example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtTpszuKXqA) I can ...

Best live band + ableton combo
What are your favorites one? I have the opportunity to play with very good musicians (I study jazz in a conservatory) and I use ableton on a daily basis since several years, and I would like to finally create the perfect bridge between the 2 worlds. I am thinking of creating loops with good sound de...

Ableton Midi Channel problem
Hello I use Geist as my main drum machine, hosted in Ableton. I configured by korg pad control to send midi notes on different channel, depending on which drum bank (called "Engine" in Geist) i want to use. It works pretty well in Geist standalone, however in Ableton, it doesn't. I send mi...

Can't use external sample editor
Hello, When I try to edit a sample using the edit button in the clip properties, my sample editor starts normally but doesn't open the sample. Same problem with both Wavelab and golden wave editor. I wonder if it's linked to the fact that i can't use my audio output (to play a youtube video for inst...
