yeah I saw the firewire drop coming, but I always figured the camcorder market would force them to keep it...but it looks like my next lappy will have to be a pro instead of a mac book.....nice while it lasted I guess.....

it just seems like there should be a way to do it, maybe using midipipe or something? Or conversely if there was a way to set the +\- range for a controller in Live, that would do it to...you can set the +\- values for what you are modifying with the mapped controller, but if you could do the same w...

adjusting knob sensitivity on Akai MPD 24

I recently got an MPD 24...I love it, but the action of the rotary encoders (knobs) is a bit sluggish for my taste. Is there a way to hack the hardware or software to make the knobs more sensitive...ie a shorter throw to get the full range....or a way to do it in Live?

:D

the only way I'm currently able to do this is by sending the clips to an Effects Rack...with a compressor in each chain, with the sidechain solo buttons on, and the side chain input set to each of the clips I want to cross-fade, then the effects rack needs a dummy audio signal and I can use the chai...

I'm having this same problem...it's driving me crazy, this seems like a major oversight, why does it stop playing when there is a note held and you move out of a chain zone? ..., if you can't crossfade the new note fine, but it should at least finish playing the old note :x

I really think this has something to do with the way os x handles the switching of the headphone out from analog to digital when something is unplugged or plugged in...there is probably an exception being throw that ableton isn't dealing with properly that causes this to happen. In addition to this ...

I just started experiencing this too...I can trigger it very reproducibly by doing the following: put a delay au plugin (one I made in sonic birth i can send it to anyone if they want to try to reproduce this) on an audio channel, switch the monitor state to ON. My latency instantly gets all screwed...

I am curious, do you really have 100 horizontal tracks to your set or is that just a turn of phrase?
actually my current live set only has 69 tracks, but i could see myself getting up to 100 if I had to play more than an hour :D

I'm another of those 100 track wide people...if your machine can handle it, it works fine, it's easy to import sets and you don't have to compromise anything....although having 10 or 20 return/sends gets kind of messy, and scrolling can be annoying while you're setting things up, but once it's in th...
