Re: Changing parameters over time live in Session view

Ah! Thanks! I never knew that could control parameters for anything in the track. The things you miss over the years! Another question though - what I really want to do is have a very short loop, say 1 bar of hi-hats, and have an envelope effecting it over the span of, say, 30 bars. In the Envelopes...

Changing parameters over time live in Session view

Hi people, Probably been asked before but I'm struggling to find the right search terms but... Is there a way to steadily change a parameter over time in Session view? A bit like an automation envelope. Eg, I want to slowly change the delay on my hi-hat over X bars without having to turn a MIDI knob...

MIDI conflict with Zero SL MkII

Hi all, I have a weird problem with my Zero SL MkII. Whenever I use certain MIDI CC numbers via other controllers, it freaks out. Specifically, I'm using an FCB1010 foot pedal on MIDI channel 5 to send CC messages. All's fine until I use CC 42 or 47. Even simply assigning these in MIDI Map mode caus...

Re: Copying clips with MIDI controllers.

Launchpad with LPC-live can do that too. Brilliant feature.

Re: how to solo (automate) one drum rack pad?

Merges - I used to use it in order to mute particular drum samples within a drum rack without having to use the mouse and the pads mute button. I think this is what b1zzR wants it for, too. The workaround blocks certain MIDI notes, and since each pad uses its own specific MIDI note, if you block it ...

Re: how to solo (automate) one drum rack pad?

Check out this old thread - I was after exactly the same solution! http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=33137 4th post down explains how you can use the Scale MIDI FX effect to mute pads. I used this technique for years. I automated the Scale MIDI FX's to the second bank on my MPD16 so they acte...

Re: Drum rack grids scroll 3 rows not 4

In fact looking at the column of grids, they are grouped into 3 rows of 4 (as indicated by the shading), yet the box you move up & down is clearly 4x4. I'm confused.

Drum rack grids scroll 3 rows not 4

When I scroll my drum rack grids up or down, they shift 3 lines rather than 4. This means that when using a 4x4 pad controller (as I believe is intended for drum racks), once you've scrolled, say, up 1 grid in Live, the bottom row of 4 pads is the same as the top row of the preceeding grid. Weird an...

Re: SL MKII - drum pad 'note off' on pad release?

Another really weird thing I've discovered - MIDI channel 5, CC41 (and possibly others near this value) when assigned via a different controller to something, freaks the SL MKII out and causes it to forget it's track on/off LED info...

Re: SL MKII - drum pad 'note off' on pad release?

They're not ideal, thats for sure. Although since my initial rant about the note off thing, I've discovered that you can set the note off to the smallest number on the SL MKII and, provided the decay of a drum sample is long enough in Live, you hear the whole sample once you've recorded your clip. L...

SL MKII - drum pad 'note off' on pad release?

It seems the SL MKII drum pads require a pre-set 'auto-off' time. This seems ridiculous. Surely they should be able to work like normal pads where the note off data is sent when you take your finger off the pad? Anyone know if that's possible? Jeez, the SL MKII is a pain in the arse to set up with L...

Novation Zero SL MKII assigning LED buttons to solo tracks

Hi, I'm confused. I'm trying to assign the LED MIDI buttons on my Zero SL MKII to solo my Live tracks. After working out I need to set up the buttons to toggle the same CC value for both presses (either 127 or 0) I at least have them working. Thing is, the LED's on the SL MKII won't toggle on and of...
