Yes, Clyphx is pretty great.
Now must remember to use it more often...

Yeah, I always seem to have amnesia about Clyphx and look for over complicated ways of doing things when Clyphx offers a nice simple solution!Stromkraft wrote: Yes! I forgot to mention this stapleware.

Re: Live Performance, Sends, Clip Envelopes, Automation ....
I think Clyphx would be pretty useful for this. You can use the Track Action "SEND" to set your send levels.
Just set up a clip at the start point of each new song.

Re: How to reduce volume within a track
if you are working in arrangement view, another method would be to split your stereo clip (cmd-E mac, ctrl-E win) at the points where you want to lower the volume. Then you can just use the fader in the clip view (bottom left when you double click on the clip) to lower volume for each part of your t...

Re: Recording modulated automation
Actually, maybe don't use the ControlChange8 device for this. Things started going a bit wonky when a few LFOs were added. The MIDI mapping works nicely, but it'll need a different device to send out CC values. A simple patch using "ctlout" object should suffice. My Max is pretty rusty tho...

Re: Recording modulated automation
I managed to get LFO (Max LFO MIDI) modulating a send on one track and recording CCs to another. I think this is what you were after. I used 3 MIDI tracks and one MIDI bus set up in IAC Driver properties. Track 1 has an instrument rack. Track 2 has the ControlChange8 max device. "MIDI to" ...

Re: Recording modulated automation
There are some useful Max for Live devices on Robert Henke's website. His LFO2.0 device will do what you're after without having to do any MIDI routing to capture the result. http://www.roberthenke.com/technology/lfo.html That will cover LFOs, but I'm not quite sure about how to capture other modula...

Re: Where can I get overdrive plug ins?
I forgot to include the link for free plugin, again the promotion is only until tomorrow 1/2/2017 so hurry up, here it is, https://www.positivegrid.com/promotions/ This looks interesting. I hadn't heard of this plugin before. Thanks for sharing. Downloading now - you can never have too much distort...

Re: Ableton Live 10 Release Date
Personally, I'm quite happy with them adding new features and updates to Live 9 for free. :) A lot of other daws require far more regular payments to keep up to date. In my opinion Live 9 has progressed quite nicely since it was released without Ableton asking us for any more cash (except for Push o...

Re: Tempo Automation in Scenes
This can be done with the Clyphx script from Nativekontrol. http://beatwise.proboards.com/thread/992/current-version-clyphx-live-8 You could set up a clip to change the master tempo on launch. If you wanted the tempo to change several bars after a scene launch, you could use an empty clip with a fol...

Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
But is your problem actually solved AliMC ? Good point. After watching n9's video, I think I might have been getting a little carried away. My process is a little different to n9s. (Thanks to n9 for going to the effort of making the video) My Push was in Note mode, rather than Session mode. I would...

Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
Yay.
This is great. Thanks Ableton, n9 and everyone else involved in this discussion.
I think Push now works exactly as I wanted it to.
Just need to sell something now to fund a new Push 2.

Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
...in 9.7 you can record into arrangement while recording clips in session view: shift+record button on push activates arrangement record and then you can use the record button (without shift) to record clips in session view... I didn't see your post before I posted mine. That would make a big diff...

Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
You never tried adding automation with Record Session automation in… set to "All tracks" in preferences instead of armed? Because when I do this a recording audio track does not stop and my automation is added to the drum rack track. I don't have Push any more to check, but as I remember,...

Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
Yes you're right in that it does relate to how Live responds to certain external commands. I think it only becomes an issue when trying to use Push in a certain way. The workflow I was trying to achieve with Push was to use MIDI tracks to sequence external synths, AUDIO tracks to record the synths a...
