Re: NanoKontrol 2 MIDI Remote Script: "APC Emulation"

Just to underline the point a few posts back... if the LED mode is set to 'external' in the Korg editor, along with the momentary buttons as described, then you get accurate feedback on what mode you're in. (I'm using Live 9.7, 64bit) Really handy little piece of coding. Thanks to everyone who's con...

Re: Some MIDI Effects Racks for Superior Drummer 2.0

First, I want to say thanks to Martin for these racks - really great stuff. Second, using the Preprocessor rack (and feeding into another track as per instructions) I'm still getting a couple of missing notes (ie they are showing as note IDs on the clip view, rather than a drum/articulation). They a...

Re: Best "DRUMMER" plugins & ways to get live drummer beats

I am a Jamstix user for years now and can really recommend it. There must be a trial version, if I am not wrong, check it out. Sometimes you need to tame it a little, as it tends to overplay, but that's manageable. You can record its midi-output or drag it to a clip in Live and edit to your liking ...

Preparing tracks to export WAVs - signal levels?

Hi there I'm trying to get my head around how best to prepare a set to export all tracks as WAVs, which I can then dump into a new set for mixing. (Been reading both Tarekith's brilliant guides and Mike Senior's equally excellent 'Mixing Secrets', and trying to approach this in a systematic way). I'...

BCF2000 and Live9

Hi there I was really pleased to pick up a BCF2000 for £56 the other day in a Cash Converters  , having been eyeing them up on eBay for a time. I want to use it primarily as a mixer tool, and I have it running as a Mackie control surface using the 'NC C' BCF setting. Having scoured forums a...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?

Apols for bumping a prehistoric thread, but I'm having some trouble setting up Session Drums with a Roland kit (TD-11 KV) The main issue is that about half the hat signals go to the right place, but many others don't go to a hat slot - they go to D0 and A#-1. By shifting them up (to open and closed ...

Alesis DM6 hihat issue (sorted)

Hi people Bought myself a cheap'n'cheerful e-drumkit a couple of weeks back to use mainly as a MIDI controller with Ableton. It's an Alesis DM6 and on the whole (as a singer/guitarist/bassist dabbling with drums) I'm pleased enough with it. However I had been pretty frustrated by an issue with the h...

Re: Vst folder problem (Mac OS)

My mate is using Live Lite (Akai MPK25 edition) on his Mac and we can't get Live to find any VSTs at all - they are on his machine, and we point the plugin folder in the right place, but nothing shows up except AUs. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Re: is there a master warp track?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but having found this very useful (thanks to above posters) I'm now having some trouble altering sample length and having Live recognise them as the same. I have multitracked WAVs, all should be the same length but 2 out of the 14 showed as 6.57.883 (all the others were ...

Re: PC laptops, myths and facts

Update, in case anyone's vaguely interested: I bought a Lenovo L512 (i5, 4GB RAM, 7200rpm drive, Win7/64), and tonight I've just finished playing around with the DPC latency checker. There were a few red spikes (yikes) to start with but now I have got it down to always green, <300. I found that the ...

Re: PC laptops, myths and facts

Hi, thanks for all the tips. Still wondering about the HP ProBook 6540b, have found a refurb for a decent price (this'd leave me enough to grab the new hardware compressor I've been eyeing up lately too...), otherwise the Thinkpad L512 looks good. As regards Rain computers - any idea what Thinkpad t...

PC laptops, myths and facts

Hi all. This is yet another 'what laptop' request, but I've been checking threads here and elsewhere for the past couple of weeks, and I'm still reasonably confused. Basically I'm after a viable PC laptop (around £600-800) to run Ableton. (This is to replace my existing old c.2005 NEC single-core In...
