a MIDI keyboard with pads and REAL endless rotary encoders?
hi, one year ago I bought an Akai MPK49, believing it could be everything I needed in one controller for when I play with Live live (on stage :P), but it has a few major flaws: - the pads suck = I had to repair them with some DIY ability and now they work ok - the endless rotary encoders sends absol...

I'm glad they are finally back with a new album! I heard a while ago one of them had throat cancer... I hope the new album means he is well recovered!

thanks for taking the time to write that article! it was very informative.
I always find it interesting to read how other people set up their DAW's and instruments especially in live situations

Re: Traktor Pro 2 and performance
I've actually sold my S4 / Traktor 2 today because I didn't use it anymore after buying Live... I guess it's cool if you need to mix songs, but if you want to go beyond the barriers of classic DJ controls Traktor still lacks quite a few things. the sample decks are a cool addition, but they are very...

Re: Building a hardware setup
you should get a midi controller like the akai mpk (there are different models, basically all the same with different number of octaves) or the novation sl mkII. those are the 2 best options of that kind for ableton live. you will have a midi keyboard, pads for the drums, faders, rotary encoders and...

9 is not going to come out in the next couple of months don't worry, and buy the upgrade now that there is this good offer, you won't regret it.

Re: Another question about warping...
I have tried warping to 130 every 2 bars and copy pasting, but then the audio track sets up some stupid fades at the end of each clip that I can't delete so I have to move it around...Also doesn't seem to land on the beat anyway. Preferences window -> Record Warp Launch tab -> Warp/Fades section: d...

Re: AKAI MPD32 Drum pad question
every controller Akai released lately have the same problem with the pads. the fix shown in the vid works very well, I tried myself on my MPK and it was like day and night. if you have a thin rubber sheet it's even better than using tape. or if you want to spend some money, the upgraded pads from mp...

Re: Blah blah you, and your 30% off!
in relation to a full max licence m4L is a bargain.. no question about that and even without reductions.. just that you are forced to use it one the one hand and the quite open declaration that further development of the core program itself is now in the hand of a hord of wild max patchers, on the ...

Re: Blah blah you, and your 30% off!
what I got from this thread is this: 1. Ableton gives M4L free or with a very good discount (50% or 30% are both very good for something that you actually WANT. or at least I guess you really want it, I hope so!) 2. people doesn't like that and suggest to pay for a runtime and to pay for the various...

Re: another Audio Interface suggestion thread... specs inside!
I've read some reviews and the MOTU's seem to be prone to breaking easily... since I'll have to carry it around that scares me a bit. is the UA-1010 any better? it's a bit more than what I need, but I'm looking for quality... I have an Edirol/Roland M-16DX already but I don't like the pre-amps very ...

tnx!
will I be able to route the cue from Live to the headphone output with the ultralite or the express?
since I don't need the FX's and all the I/O's of the ultralite, how does the express compare to it in terms of quality? apart from those features they seem alike to me
