The Finnish presenters were really slagging off the UK entry - quite funny. But the best was that they had this fake presenter who is a comedian - Krisse I think her name is. I don't know if they showed her on the international feeds - she was wearing a big frilly pink dress. I've never heard her wo...

Re: Eurovision?

how the hell can anyone consider that music? jesus!?!? Mind you, the UK entry was once again total shite. Funny how a country with such a big music industry can't put together a decent eurovision entry. i think there are 2 reasons, firstly great songs don't win this compotition and secondly anybody...

It was a nice idea but after a while it seemed to be a bit monotonous. There could have been a bit more pizazz with a big band sound...

Re: Eurovision?

how the hell can anyone consider that music? jesus!?!? Ach, don't be such a snob. it's just a bit of fun. Once you enter into the spirit of things you can enjoy europop for its trash value and cheesy spectacle. C'mon, the Ukraine entry was crazygreat, not taking it too seriously. And anyone who can...

AAAAaaaaaarrrgghhh after no short of 30-50 combos of the suggestions above still no luck!!! Im going to try it on a Macbook Pro tomorrow and if it doesn't work I'm fucking it off. Have you tried a different firewire cable? I had a problem once with another piece of FW kit and it was simply a faulty...

Return it and get a real audio interface like the Ultralite. Kidding, but only a little. Yeah, I was going to say "it's not irony, it's m-audio" But it's good advice, delete all the drivers - if I remember correctly, M-Audio driver installers also include an uninstaller. Try that, restart...

I'm using last.fm - you can put as much stuff as you like online and make it all freely downloadable if you choose. People can stream it from you artist page, or chance upon it if they listen to the last.fm radio.

anything except the FW410. Do a search here or on google to see why (in brief: it sucks). If you're just wanting a cue out, then I imagine a USB would be fine for your needs. My only other advice is to go with a reputable manufacturer - steer clear of cheap M-Audio solutions becuause they end up was...

I own max/msp, but I've never got beyond chapter 14 in the manual! I always get that far (I've tried about five times now), then something comes up and lose track and forget everything. I think this is a great partnership, although personally I'm not interested in programming patches with max/msp. B...

The most helpful advice is: ditch M-Audio. Buy Presonus or MOTU. It's the only way your nightmare will go away. Trust me, and many others. We've been there.

Re: Should I buy a Traveller, Ultralite, or 8Pre

I can't answer all these, but I just bought an Ultralite so here's my take: 1. With the Ultralite being a newer product than the traveller, does it have any technical advantages? In the same way that a computer bought this year will be faster, and more advanced than one bought last year? Or will it ...

Thanks for the tips. Well I eventually figured out what the problem was (or appears to be). I was using an external HD (LaCie FW800 BigDisk 300GB, with a firewire 400 connection fwiw) to store all audio and video files and Live couldn't access the data fast enough. I transferred the entire project t...

serious slowdown with video

is there an optimum video size/format for better performance from Live? I'm making a soundtrack but Live keeps freezing for ages with the spinning beachball whenever I try to do anything. The cpu meter is only at 2%, but the software is almost unusable. I have 13 tracks of audio, but 10 of them are ...
