Alesis ControlPad MIDI issues
I'm running Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 with Ableton Live 9 Suite and just purchased an Alesis ControlPad and despite hours and hours of googling and tinkering I can't get ANY midi signal whatsoever in Ableton. Not a blip. I tried setting it up via Mac's MIDI Studio, nothing. Tried using MIDI Monitor ...

Re: problems with clip launch
Are you using a global quantization ? Is the HD access light flashing in the top right ? Do you load stuff in RAM mode ? global quantization is set to 1 bar, the HD access doesn't flash when I launch clips and no I don't load anything in RAM mode I use the default settings for whenever I drop clips...

problems with clip launch
So I've begun exporting all of the clips from my songs and mashing them together into a live set but I have one gigantic problem; every time I launch the next scene of my set there is this audible dip in audio, like a millisecond worth of silence between the end of the first scene and the beginning ...

Field Recording
So I recently bought the Zoom H4N field recorder and am absolutely loving it, but I'd really like to take my recordings to the next level. A lot of the recordings I do have an incredible amount of background "buzz" and wind noise to it, and some of them I feel just aren't "present&quo...

A Fire Inside (Downtempo Remix)
This is my first attempt at doing a track of this particular synth driver/downtempo style, I'd love if anyone could give me some tips or hints concerning the mix (especially the vocal track, I felt unsure the entire time while mixing the vocals). I feel like it turned out alright but theres a lot of...

A new experimental trip hop beat I did from some Alice Coltrane, Sade, and Cowboy Bebop OST samples. I've been listening to a lot of Flying Lotus lately, so this is the product. Criticism greatly needed and encouraged. Enjoi.

Re: Thelonious Monk Downtempo trip-hop
Thanks for the feedback man, I added you up on soundcloud you got some cool shit. I do get what you're saying, I do have a tendency to second guess every single track release I put out. Hard not to hear only the negative when you've been listening to it for 3 weeks I suppose.

http://soundcloud.com/mistermcgillicuddy/last-night-30 I really need some advice from you veterans here. I've been an ableton junkie for about a year now, and I think I'm really happy with the way this one came out as far as instruments and sampling goes, but I feel like I'm missing so much in the m...

experimental/grunge - "Strange Effect" - MASCHINE MADE.
www.soundcloud.com/mistermcgillicuddy/strange-effect a little off of my style, but a generous change of pace from my usual stuff. drum driven, with a big emphasis on trying to combine a heavily distorted acoustic drum sound with harsh saw sounds. cant really put my finger on the genre, so feedback w...

Re: Akai MPK25 Vs. MPD 32 ?
Was considerin upgradin my mpd 24 to a 32 soon to give extra knob assignment for a live situation. Then along came the MPK 25 into contention. Although im guessin the pads on the mpk will be sub standard to an mpd? What to buy? :?: if you really smack your pads I would stick with the mpd. the mpk p...
