Re: How to recover lost audio samples in OSX?

Strange, they should be in your project folder somewhere if you didn't promptly ake Live to delete unused files. Have you tride manual searching? Have a look through the finder. If they're not in the project "sample>recorded" folder, then there's a good chance they're inside a temporary set. The te...

How to recover lost audio samples in OSX?

This Friday (April 27th 2012) I was working in Ableton live on a standard "new" set when I stumbled upon some cool sounds and thought I'd record my ideas quickly while I improvised a bit. I ended up making one of those "once in a lifetime, unplanned, unable to reproduce" recordings about 5 min long....

Re: Custom Ableton system preferences for MacBook Pro?

Of course, but again, i want it to be as easy as possible to switch between the two preference sets without having to switch user accounts. I've only got the one account, so I don't know, maybe it's easier than I think, but if i need to log out and in again, that's a pain. Thanks for the speedy repl...

Custom Ableton system preferences for MacBook Pro?

Hello, i'm looking for a way to setup different profile snapshots for when i use different software applications on my MBP. For instance when I use Ableton Live to create music, i want all F-key functions turned off as they are mapped to other functions within the application. When i am not using Ab...

Re: Akai Announces MPK mini 25 key USB Mini-Controller

(I haven't figured out how to do this so the respective notes on the keyboard weren't also simultaneously mapped as well so any help with that would be appreciated) If you can, change the pads from note to (toggle-)CC mode. Not shure if you can do this with the MPK mini though :D I think the keyboa...

Re: MPK Mini / Control Surface

This is killing me. I've never seen so little documentation for any device. I'm still rather green when it comes to midi controllers, so I know my lack of understanding for the theory behind it all severely limits me, but why aren't there more specific instructions anywhere for getting the device to...

Re: Akai Announces MPK mini 25 key USB Mini-Controller

Hello everyone. I'm a noob and that will surely be apparant from my posts, but i just started playing around with one of these and while using Simple Delay in Ableton I mapped the Time/Sync toggles to two of the pads (I haven't figured out how to do this so the respective notes on the keyboard weren...

HeadrickProductions... Lol, i'm originally from New York. Been living here for 10 years. Whether I can get away with saying "Y'all" as a New Yorker is another question. Being representative for ALL things American has it's advantages and disadvantages. Getting away with southern coloquialisms is one...

Macbook advice...

Hello all, i'm relatively new to both Ableton and Macs. I've used Ableton for years as a way to record my ideas but never got down to the nitty gritty of it until recently. Now i'm using it rather intensely as a tool and instrument and thus invested in a Macbook Pro 13" Core 2duo 2.4ghz. This was ex...
