Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but I do love my elektron analog rytm, even though I still am learning it; I doubt anything in software is remotely like this. They are working on some deep plugin integration (overbridge), it's not out yet though for the rytm.

I went from my 2nd dead AK1 to a focusrite 6i6 -- it's great, super reliable and easy (OS X). (I haven't really made use of the extra ports that this expansion got me, since I don't do a lot of stuff out of the box. But I could! It is nice to have a 2nd headphone out jack though.)

I'm using the "x24" low cut on band 1. Band 1 is up at 100Hz. There's stuff bouncing around above -12db all the way down to the lowest freqs on the spectrum. At 24db per octave (x24) there shouldn't be any 30, 40, 50 hz. And at -12db ? That's loud. Just saying. Can you post a screenshot w...

I've had this with a fairly different audio interface (NI audio kontrol 1) caused by old drivers, went away with updated drivers. My first thought also was some plugin in demo mode, but that should be affected by the volume controls in ableton. What happens if you just quit ableton when this happens...

Well, that just means you end up with a dual-monitor setup...definitely not the end of the world

I just use lame from the command line (can install via macports). "lame --preset standard file.wav file.mp3" -- one simple step . then "open ." if you want to get at the file in finder.
