Re: Ableton main website - what happened?

Trying to out-rectangle Microsoft, it seems.
Better watch out if MS is as stingy about sharp corners as Apple is about rounded ones. :P

As a side note: my astigmatism really makes the new logo uncomfortable.

Re: [HELP] Need a new laptop for Live Acts & DJ Sets on Ableton!

You said your current laptop is getting too hot and crashing. Before you spring for a new one, try cleaning the fan and ventilation, if you can. You just might solve that problem, increase performance by a ton, and save yourself the need to buy a new machine for a while, so you can spend a bit more ...

Re: What to look for in a cheap pair of monitors?

my advice... get a home-stereo amp with a pair of good speakers (ones that let you enjoy listening to music).. I personally prefer old amps and cabinets..they're mostly on the cheap side TOO.. (..and you'd have some $ left for decent studio-headphones.. which will give you the neutrality and precis...

Re: KORG nanoPad controlling AbletonLive

Another thing to check, as noted elsewhere, is that if you have a Logitech webcam installed, the driver can interfere with midi devices. If you have one, uninstall it and try the nanoPad again.

Re: lpk25 not working with ableton

Try this:
http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=sup ... ivers&f=84
(download and run)

If that doesn't work, do you happen to have a Logitech QuickCam? That driver screws with midi devices and needs to be uninstalled for the LPK25 to work.

Re: looking for albums recorded live (original songs only)

R.E.M.'s "New Adventures in Hi-Fi" is an album of previously unreleased material mostly recorded live, either in the concerts themselves or during the soundchecks, with some tinkering done later. Also, the first album from the Blue Moon Boys (from Fort Wayne, Indiana) was a live record cal...

Re: Got an LPK25 and realized I almost have my dream controller

Been thinking about getting one to replace my terrible nanokey. The lack of pitch and mod wheel does put me off a bit though. They really should have put little buttons for them like on the nanokey. How about this? http://www.icon-global.com/music/music/product.php?musiccpfb_id=86&cpl2shu1_id=1...

Getting gear in China

Hey guys and girls. Does any of you have any advice for getting gear in China? I decided not to bring my keyboard controller with me because I didn't think I'd have any trouble finding a simple solution here, but I haven't been so lucky. The only affordable keyboard I've found with MIDI isn't touch-...

Re: Downsampling Phase mystery

Like I said, I found a workable solution, I just had Live render it at the original sampling rate and then converted the rendered track with another program--no problem there. But I'm just a little mystified by the conversion problem within Live. Even working with the project within Live at the lowe...

Can this be loaded into Live 6? I'm still a poor, non-upgraded fool.

Downsampling Phase mystery

I have a stereo guitar recording at 16bit/48khz with no phase problems*, but when I render the track to 16/44.1k I end up with terrible phase problems. The problem is also there if I change my interface output (within Live) to 44.1k. I have found a workaround--rendering the track at its original sam...

Re: Ableton 7 not recognizing MIDI signal from Korg nanoKONTROL

Did you ever get this resolved?

I just picked up a nanoKontrol and seem to be having the same problem. It's installed with the latest driver and all, but Live (6 for me, cause I'm still too poor) just doesn't see it.
